If that were true how do you explane the "five year plans", "the hero of soviet labor award" the concept of universal literacy,equal status for women just to name a few?
Stalin came to power in 1922. In the thousand year rule of the tsars women did not have equal status and there was no unversal education. The bolshiviks take power in 1917 and those two items are on the top of the list of changes. For thirty years of stalins reign those two items were enhanced and perpetuated.
This does not make him a good guy or a bad guy but it does make quite clear that he was a socialist and a communist.
