LOL. Oh gosh if I did that in Korea, I'd be going crazy. People are on the cell EVERYWHERE here. I thought it was bad in the USA. No, it's nothing compared to here! Here - they are everywhere - the bathroom, the bus, the subway, the hallway, in my classroom (ok, so they text, but still....no, you can NOT text on your cell phone during class - please step outside. ), in the restaurant. The one that really gets me - IN THE ELEVATOR! What I have done a time or two in Korea was started speaking in English (or Spanish) REALLY LOUDLY BECAUSE I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE PRIVATE CONVERSATION THAT SOMEONE IS .... kamsahamnida ajumma. (thank you, ma'am)... for going away with yoru private call. And the women who use the ONLY stall with a western toilet to have their conversations. Discreet knock. Pounding. Yelling in English - "Hey! I don't use the squatters, would you PLEASE stop hogging the ONLY bathroom I can use?!" I guess I could add that to the list of things that irritate me...

~FR~ I'm taking the OP's question as meaning pet peeves, not big issues like racism, homophobia, etc............So, the worst things, to me, are: People who risk my life because they're driving like idiots People who mistake my kindness for weakness (as in co-workers/employees). Just because I'm laid back, easy going and flexible with you doesn't mean I'm not in charge and expect you to do what I say when it's something that's non-negotiable (which is very rare) Patrons who come in angry that they owe overdue fines (I'm a librarian) and they just KNOW they weren't late ever. I can tell them exactly what date and TIME the items were checked out and checked in and they still think it's a set up to steal their dime. Geesh. You owe it, pay it you cheapskate. Dear god, sounds like a battle just to get through the day :-) The Japanese have the right idea - no use of mobiles on trains. Fair play to 'em. It's frowned upon in England, but not enforced, unlike Japan where they have signs on trains telling people to put their mobiles on silent. On the downside, the Japanese have a serious problem with sex pests on crowded trains, so it ain't all good. Maybe that's the trade off - ban mobiles and the men turn into sex starved lunatics. Just put another sign up or something: "turn your phone on silent, but do watch some porn on it instead of touching up the girls for crying out loud".

The only thing that really pisses me off is people who mistreat their kids or pets. More than once Max has had to physically remove me from a room where I was about to confront a parent who had just hit their kid. He's going to have his hands full when I get on testosterone, poor guy.

Reading this thread is a tad strange. We live in a world where (for one example of the way too many insane things going on on this pretty planet) women in the Congo get their clits cut off and sometimes eaten. Yet it pisses people off more than anything, more than anything, mind you, MORE than anything things like dumb cell phone use. It really messes me with me what (often males) humans do to each other out of fear and feelings of deep seated inadequacy. There is also a freaked out sort of rage I feel when while riding my bike and some car comes barreling out into the intersection as if bikes had not ever existed before therefore I nearly lose my life, or they wank open their car door as I pass nearly decapitating me... Things that are annoying abound! Abound I tell ya! Abound! I am going to try and calm down. I dig what LaT said, I get annoyed at my own stuff. I try and have perspective.
