Dear NikkiAnn, Ladies and Gentlemen; I came up through the times where it was only a Master/Mistress-slave title and roles. To which a slave in training would be similar to what is considered as submissive today, as they were learning about themselves and really were not sure if this was for them, as well as their own phobias, fears of things and learning how to serve so dramaticly different. That "slave in training' phase was where discovery and the learning stage and once ready; went into slave status. Additionally, dominance and submission was a state of being in my day, not a role. As things have changed, titles were needed for the newer generation coming through the journey; to which Dominant/submissive seemingly was created and caught on. But, I like to think of being submissive, is where one submits many times, still democratic enough to hold the Dominant to boundaries, limits and the like. Whereas, slave submits once. By that time, they've found their limits, boundaries and have hit their peak; so they are able to submit to the Master/Mistress their total being, when they are given boundaries, limits and understand what is required before the beg/request a collar, having experienced it in the submissive/slave training phase, they make a one time act of submission, through the conditional submission to the unconditional submission. Respectfully submitted, Lady Hugs
