This is an opinion question really, but if you ordered your slave to go and buy a new toy, would you rather they bought from the store in person or just ordered it online?

Around here the one store mainly sells dvds. And a small selection of vibes and dildos. So either it's online or not at all. And if I was in NYC which does have stores fully stocked, why would there be any humiliation in buying something they sell? I'd just say I was asked to pick up a whatever, and which did they recommend. No difference than being sent to the hardware store for something he needs for a repair job. I'm not humiliated by not knowing what it is, I just write it down and go ask.

However he might want to rethink doing that, because if I get my choice I'm going to get it in pink. I like pink.

I am such a comparison shopper... am I after immediate gratification, or not getting gouged on price? Our local shop is cool about whatever you buy, so no humiliation there... gah! I wants an easy question!

As long as the quality is good and it is what I want, I am not fussed, if I want the bit of cringing and embarrassment, I will specifically tell him/her to buy it in a shop, I might even call there in advance and tell them to ask a few questions that make the buyer squirm ;-)

The stores here are either overpriced, carry shoddy merchandise or both.  Online all the way.

I admit for some things, you have to go online to really get the quality you want. It depends on the item.

Normally a task to go buy something "kinky" does have a certain element of humiliation. That, too, depends on the person. I like the idea of calling the shop ahead of time and asking that they be very thorough in the explanation of the purchase.

My new partner revels in going to the store to shop for toys. No way to humiliate him with this one, he's like a kid in a candy shop.

Oh I do so love reading your posts. You so often say just what I was thinking.

I do have to add to the idea of one or the other though...there is a third choice. I think the most fun I ever had "shopping" with a sub was in a Hustler store in Hamilton, Ohio. I had to explain to a little shop girl that my boy has an allergy to latex. She turned purple trying to explain what some materials were and he wanted very badly to evaporate. Add to this asking where the gay anal rape porn was and my wanting to talk to uncle larry. I think the girls working there really wished I would go away. For me it was more fun than one person should be allowed to have.

An in person inspection is always good.  So for local stuff, sure.  For one of Mike Murphy's whips, I'll pass on the air fair to Australia.

Normally I would agree with you. But a shop clerk at a sex toy store? I think they can handle it. It's what they are paid (so little) to do.

I've never run across one who wasn't VERY kink aware. Just saying.

the sex shops around here only sell things like licorice whips and cheap dildos and gag gifts. So if he asked me to buy a toy I doubt I could even buy it around here. I'd have to make a special trip to NYC or Philly. Would be easier and faster for me to just order it online. Plus I don't feel humiliated by going to a sex store. I get what I need, I chat with the cashier for awhile, etc...not a big deal at all to me, no different than going to any store imo.
