Beautifully put!  I just got off a meditation retreat, and you articulate much of what we were bumbling around trying to do there.
But (and this isn't meant as a criticism of anyone), I think for me, at least, "know thyself," "be true to thyself" and "see how others see you" is the work of several lifetimes!

I don't know that we can ever know ourselves.  (Oedipus Rex was actually written at a time when a huge culture war was going on over the meaning of "Know Thyself"--one faction arguing it meant 'know the gods are in charge and you are their plaything' and the other arguing 'man can do anything--as long as he knows himself', so everyone agreed with the phrase [I want to say the phrase was Nothi Sauron, but it's all Greek to me...]) but people didn't really know what it meant.

But, while I don't know that I will ever actually answer your questions, I've been coming back to them over and over and over, and as I tease them out, I get little glimpses.  Let's just hope they are enough...

For the women, most men seem to ignore the "I'm not looking right now" profiles anyway.

*laughs*  Not in my experience.

Heh, I take that back. Most of the sane, sincere men do. [;)] Most men should.

All the stuff written at the beginning of this post is correct....the problem...when you attain these things you only see were others have not....your ahead of the pack and looking behind now....you can't see the frieght train headed your way!  LOL  At least that my  happy take on it.

it is not until one has the courage to really look at oneself that one will truly see one's faults. that's when change truly begins.

When I look at profiles, the disconnect between the Inner and Outer "face" is what I notice first.  It just pops out at you, after a while.

Of course, if someone has NOTHING in their profile - what does that say about them?

FHky

edited to add:  I'm not talking about anyone in particular, just a question for the people who are "looking" yet put nothing out there about themselves.

I think I am the opposite of this I am looking but I think I have put too much information in my profile.

Very well said FHKY.  I'm going to put this one in my personal post library.  Thank you for sharing.

Thanks, Nina (and the others).  I thought this had died.

I am about to post another - on "Hunting the Femsub".

Eventually, I may develop these threads (and a lot that I'll probably never post to a thread) as a book, or an e-book.

Is there a separate category for submissive Male to Female transexuals? if not where would we fit in?

Thanks

FirmhandKY -> RE: How to succeed in your search. (5/17/2006 12:16:36 PM)

NikkiAnn,

I don't plan on posting anything other than the areas that I put a lot of personal effort into.  That's what I know best.  Eventually, with feedback from others such as yourself, I might consider addressing something other than the maledom/femsub dynamic, but it's not something that I could even pretend to have any expertise in.

Why not use my format, and try to adjust the basic reasoning to your particular situation?

If nothing else, it might make for some interesting threads.

Well thought out and neatly atriculated FirmhandKY, and intrinsically true. Thank you for the post.
