wulfenstraat -> Obama vis a vis Osama (5/3/2011 5:20:50 PM)

I’ve been lied to before...by experts.  It does not require much intelligence to consider that a high-value target like Osama bin Laden would not face a bullet...but a hypodermic.  Imagine all we could learn about al-Qaeda if we held Osama in a high-security, extrajudicial facility for the next five years.  After all, we captured and “detained” Osama’s own chauffeur for all the valuable secrets he possessed.  Why wouldn’t we prefer an Osama-class villain to waterboard on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  But even more important than wringing out all that deadly poison (which, strictly speaking, barely threatens the American way of life) is the surgical removal of his terrorist fangs over the Muslims’ evolving state of mind.

wulfenstraat -> RE: Obama vis a vis Osama (5/3/2011 5:58:36 PM)

Osama will not be a martyr among good and honest Muslims, because Osama represents the antithesis of what the Muslim world has been striving for since the invention of the paradigm-ic decimal system and, less well known, of al-Gebra (Algebra).  These are not a simple people, whose lives and loves can be taken lightly.  To their great horror, Osama called America the Great Satan; yet Muslims know that this filthy hypocrite himself ate the fruit of American invention and thoroughly enjoyed the works of the devil, including the apple computer.  In addition, Osama liked his noon and evening leftovers served as a cold snack late at night, which he would sometimes retrieve himself from the refrigerator; and he always enjoyed the smooth ride of a Mercedes to the bounce and jolt of a camel, since he always considered his bad kidneys above good religion.  We all remember that he loved to pose with the devil’s instrument of an automatic rifle, hardly favored by the Quran.  Osama was a hypocrite.

wulfenstraat -> RE: Obama vis a vis Osama (5/3/2011 5:59:38 PM)

Let it be known that Muslims revere the American lifestyle, as propagandized on their radios and televisions in programs as vacuous as the beloved “I Love Lucy” and the Arab-dubbed soap “Dallas.”  The Muslims are rising, yes...but they’re rising against anti-Americanism, against people who don’t love Lucy and who can’t appreciate the loving nature of a son like JR.  They want to be like Americans, without having to be American, which they consider to be exhausting.  In short, they want to enjoy the same fads and gadgets and turns-of-phrase that speed us Americans through a mind-swirl of liberating thought and exhilarating action...without themselves being American.  It’s what American culture provides for everyone, regardless of race, creed, color or national origin.  This is the PAX Americana.  Everyone wants in.  Whoever is keeping you out is the person or institution you will rail against.

wulfenstraat -> RE: Obama vis a vis Osama (5/3/2011 6:04:21 PM)

As Americans, we see and acknowledge that, despite their fear of Osama and his nest of vipers, these good and honest Muslims have gathered to voice their desperate need and appreciation of a more compatible lifestyle, as free from religion and Osama as from their government.  The first to go is government, head over heels; religion, for their grandparents’ sake, is sidelined for a generation; Obama is left to the Americans.  So, as Americans, we decide to midwife their birth into friends and neighbors we value, people whose individual minds, hopes and aspirations meld with the American standard of “hard work and clean living prosper us all.”  We decide to take out Osama as an object lesson to all minor dictators that American will and power should not be trifled with.  We're talking to you Kaddafi. It's an object lesson for you.

wulfenstraat -> RE: Obama vis a vis Osama (5/4/2011 12:06:08 PM)

Just as the Osama snake wove into being a nest of vipers that struck on 9/11, this same snake can be made to rid us of the jihadist poison that keeps good and honest Muslims from enjoying the same rights and privileges in their homelands that we Americans take for granted in our homeland. That’s why we didn’t kill Osama. That’s also why we don’t slab his body into view. Nor do we have any hope of retrieving his carcass from its watery grave. It’s not there. Arabs don’t need to have ocean burials? Arabs are not known to have carted the heat-spoiled carcasses of their loved ones across the Sahara to bury them at sea. And, of course, we had to bury Osama right away before he began to smell like a martyr. We never have to worry about that, because the Muslims are with us. Osama is a martyr only to the few snakes that, hidden in holes and filthy nests, we will prod out into the light, because Osama will tell us everything about his brother in al-Qaeda in order to avoid the dogs of merciless interrrogation, day after day, year after year, humiliation on end.

wulfenstraat -> RE: Obama vis a vis Osama (5/4/2011 12:29:39 PM)

Osama loved his creature comforts. This was not lost on Muslims because, like him, Muslims love their cell-phones and their twitter messages and, when you get right down to it, the lifestyle that America offers to all who want it, virtually free of charge. At this juncture in their evolving consciousness, the Muslim world sees their repressive governments, most of them monarchies or dictatorships, as the first significant block to their evolution as world citizens. These governments, antithetical in nature to the foundation of true democracies, have repressed the free-thinking cosmopoles that they know they are, that America knows they are, that America wants them to be.

I am unsure of the indisputability of this claim.  It would seem to me from the outside looking in that we wouldn't waste too much time discovering whether or not they do that.

Most of us don't even give a fuck about where the Sahara is.  I mean take a poll, most everyone is content to think it is in Las Vegas.

Wow, and I thought I started dumb-ass threads after I had a few beers.
