Al-Qaida vows revenge for Osama bin Laden's death

CAIRO – Al-Qaida confirmed the killing of Osama bin Laden and vowed revenge, saying Friday that Americans' "happiness will turn to sadness." The statement was the first by the terror network since its leader was slain in a U.S. commando raid against his Pakistani hideout.

The statement, written in typical al-Qaida style and in the name of the organization's General Command, seemed mostly intended to reassure followers that the terror group remains vigorous and intact.

The statement was dated Tuesday, the day after bin Laden's death. Its authenticity could not be independently confirmed, but it was posted on militant websites Friday by the al-Fajr Center, al-Qaida's online media distribution network.

Al-Qaida vows revenge

First the Taliban in Pakistan and now an official response from al Qaida. For a man that some on this board and around the world claim is not dead, his supporters are making a lot of noise like he is.

Rueters, AFP are also running similar stories.

There has already been reports that Osama Bin Laden and al Qaida had planned attacks for the 10th anniversary of 9/11 involving Long Island trains.

Excuse me-  but what did you expect?

Of course they will.

This is where our dancing in the streets was not a good thing.     So yes-  the revenge lives on. They will kill us-- and we will kill them for our entire life. This is the world that our leader want.   Do you?

You act like it's a new thing hunky. Way back when the US Navy was fighting the Barbary pirates in the southern Mediterranean in the late 18th/early 19th century, Thomas Jefferson predicted that this fight between Islam and the West would never end.

Well, the US forces being in Afghanistan provides the perfect staging post for war with Pakistan, seeing as Pakistan has always been the place where much of the anti western feeling came from, and indeed where OBL was found, not Afghanistan. I wonder if the authorities knew Pakistan was the centre of anti western feeling all along.

But as in everything, one reaps what they sow, so expect tighter restrictions upon ourselves if the threats become more tangible, for we just have to be protected.

Last time I checked, Old Al-Qaida never said they would stop attacking us.   So what has really changed in that regard?  If OBL was still alive, they would still want to attack us, so now he is dead.  And they still want to attack us.

It's not O'bama's fault, It's not Bushes fault, it is the fault of the fucking nuts who don't mind dying for some screwed up religious beliefs.

Like it or not terrorist have always existed and they will always exist.  Someone somewhere will always be pissed off at someone else enough to find fools to die for their cause

He, he. It is almost funny how desperately the government tries to make "Osama killing" scam credible. Lot of mistakes were made with the first announcements. Obviously the White House watching the operation live picture [actually college b-ball finals?] was a mistake. Most what came after Obama's first speech contradicted the speech. How did Obama not know what really happened as he watched the operation via satellite? They under-estimate public capacity to analyze the information. The best description of al Qaida I heard was: it is not a solid organization, but it is a CIA database of  fighters, gun- and drug-runners. Some of them work for CIA full-time, most are loose shady characters, somewhat unpredictable, in general manageable.

Al-CIA-Quaeda is part of the USA administration. I can understand most Americans desire to believe the story. Also, it is  not surprising people who ask questions are immediately labeled and straw men image built. For example, Obamanite comedians all claim people who question the story believe Osama bin Laden is still alive. It is ignored most people who search for the truth assume the claim Osama died years ago is true.   I recommend people to collect all the facts (exclusively produced by the US government, no independently verifyable information provided) and look at them. The picture how the story progresses is funny.
