i actually like fetlife; i like it a little more than CM, and for whatever reason which is probably totally without actual merit, i feel safer posting pictures there than here. i've had far more negative experiences here than i EVER had on FL. i also really enjoy the format, because it's easier, in general, for me to get back to a discussion i found interesting because the groups are generally easy to identify by topic. and i've had nothing but good experiences with the Caretakers. i like that you don't see who's looking at your profile, and those you look at don't see that you're looking at them. there also isn't an "online now!" or "online since X!" feature -- i hate that. now if only the inbox let you delete emails, though. they've been "working on that" for 2-3 years now.
more than likely, these morons asked "can we start an XYZ group if we just debate in generalities?" they probably didn't specifically elaborate on their group. i dunno what made them feel they had to police the site; kinda stupid if you ask me, but no doubt the caretakers received plenty of mail on what the group was really doing, and have since asked for it to close. i've actualy seen one of the moderators go on personal vendettas of bannings against "unfavorable posters," and if there really was going to be such a group, that person really should NOT be involved in it.
but there is, effectively, no longer such a group, so i'll continue patronizing Fetlife. =p
