Sadly there are those in his world that thrive on logic, what can be seen, touched or proved, but they in my oppinion miss out on so much, for the ability to feel is what I believe we are meant to foster, for feeling is beyond emotion, it is something that cannot be defined and with feeling I believe comes the belief in something other than what science in it's embryonic state can define. It is my belief that those who believe in higher powers do so, because they feel it, not think it, for thought is logical, feel is something else.

I believe in the past, what science was, consisted of the logical and the illogical, perhaps starting with the illogical and ending up with the now, the logical, so the question might be, are we more advanced or more retarded in ourselves because of our current form of belief ?

Its sad when people can proclaim to be so science oriented and so close minded at the same time.

Science from what I have observed tends to promote closed minds until it can be proved or dissproved according to presented theorum. Theorum being the key, who creates it to be considered by the scientific community. It is my observation that a war goes on between the logical science brigade and those they describe as airy fairy, as if it is the science community wish to suggest they are right and everyone else is wrong.

I just can't help thinking that science and it's followers wish to dominate all and that by theorum, if that succeeds and we all fall to logic, how far are we away from the automaton, the yes no machine, the controlled.

If closed minds is what science produces, what happened to the "what ifs" and the "how comes" that spurred so many discoveries?

Perhaps a deficit of new discoveries that are to be made within the public sphere promotes this nonchalant mentality, as perhaps with the genuine wonder gone from the public observer, a would be discoverer is discouraged as they are jaded into the belief that there will be no audience beyond their own community. As what use a discovery, if the public ignore or take as whimsy the discovery.

Perhaps it is as we are flooded with science on a day to day basis, we are bored with it.

Science intrigues me.... especially when its medically based. But, frankly, many are treating science as the new religion, never to be questioned, always right, always superior... exactly the same thing they argue against.

No matter how messed up or smart Hawking is, (or any of us is) he doenst have the definitive answer to what happens when he pops out of his body.

How is feeling beyond emotion? Emotion is feeling. Maybe you mean ya might feel something and not have the words for it but emotion equals feeling and vice versa.

Yeppers. I tend to think of it as a secular religion.

It's an excellent research method but it doesn't have infinite applications. As a panacea it fails utterly, like all panaceas.

Finally we can agree on something.

Emotions are feelings; they are how we compare our experiences to ourselves. Whereas, to feel, is simply to experience. To feel beyond emotion, is to experience without the comparison.

Which makes the assumption that there will be a popping.

Science is always questioned by the scientists themselves.

But faith can't be questioned because, well...........you just have to have faith in something that you have no proof of.

Ummm no. Emotions are not how we compare our experience to ourselves, (where ever did you get that from?) that would be our brain. And to feel is not to simply experience without comparison, it is to feel. Feelings/emotions are emotions/feelings, no need for words or comparisons.
