I love the option of having a hidden profile.

I get to choose who I interact with.

I am owned and so am not seeking and if my profile were not hidden I would be getting cmails from people soliciting my attention.

If their profiles are hidden, it may be that they don't want to interact with people whose habit it is to YELL and be demanding.
