I'm hoping for some suggestions on the best way to store equipment, leather and/or otherwise. I rent a VERY small cottage and storage is at a premium for anything, let alone bdsm toys. I have an area in my one closet that has space to hang things, but the problem is dampness. I have a dehumidifier that I run and when the AC is on, it's not so bad, but the problem will always remain thanks to the wetland area nearby. I've even had leather items (shoes and a jacket) get moldy and they were stored "properly...or so I thought. So...any suggestions would be helpful. Also, any ideas on how to remove mold (a mild case) from leather boots?

If I recall correctly, as long as the mold is just on the outside, use a leather cleaner/conditioner and wipe it off. If the mold has gotten inside, into the lining I don't have any idea how to clean that. A local dry cleaner might be able to help. Far as keeping stuff dry... you might want to try a closed storage container, lined with towels or something, with things laid out flat, and maybe see if you can find a place to get the anti-dampness silica packs and scatter a bunch of those through it? If that's not an option, about the only other thing I could suggest would be frequent cleaning with conditioner/waterproofing agents, but I'm sure that's not really a very helpful sort of suggestion.

Make sure there is plenty of leather care on the items and then use silica or salt, if you use salt have holes in the the tin, the salt will suck up a lot of the moisture in the air, the leather care might catch a bit of the mold but it will be easy to whipe off, just check regularly

Along with the salt suggestion, you could store it in a (bugproof) container with dried rice. The rice will do the same.

Funny thing, I use bowls of salt for incense and never thought to use it for moisture. Kind of explains why the salt goes hard so quickly. Do you (or anyone else) have any suggestions for leather care products? I've held off getting many leather items for this very reason, but I'm about to have a couple things special made and can't stand the thought of having them go moldy. A plastic bin is really out of the question for storage mainly due to the lack of space. Thanks again.

There are products made for this purpose. They hang on the closet bar and suck up moisture. Can't remember the brand name she uses, but a friend who lives right near the beach swears by them. As for leather care products, mainly fat, essentially leather is skin, certain types are better than others depending on the leather, basically if you use the right leather fat, it more or less seals the leather in and the mold can't really get into the leather, simply google for leather fat or if you have a motor bike outfit shop nearby, ask them, as if you're riding a bike your leathers get wet frequently, also the stuff Wyld suggested, I recently bought some stuff for the garage as it tends to get a bit damp, the garage is quite big (for 2 cars) but I put a tin in each corner and I don't have a damp issue anymore... http://www.amazon.co.uk/151-INTERIOR-DEHUMIDIFIER-HUMIDIFIER-REMOVER/dp/B000X1ERW8/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_1_1 I am sure you get some of that as well wherever you are...
