FelineFae -> Lady Troubles (5/24/2011 11:42:18 AM)

Okay, i have noticed quite a few of us females have been having problems with our female parts. So, i thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can just bitch about them to vent, or let others know how we are getting along with our various surguries and medical proceedures.[&:]

"Endo-girl" that i am, i have to get another friggin' ultrasound tomorrow. You know the drill. Drink 48 oz of water so you fill like you're going to burst, then they press on your bladder and think you aren't gonna wet yourself ! Sadists !!! And i just know they're gonna press on my left ovary which looked more like a pommegrante last year when they took pictures.[>:]

Lady Trouble Updates from anyone else ?

I think that I have more pictures of my insides than I do my outsides!

FelineFae: Ultrasound...hahaha! I remember my first one (not for female parts though)...I had never had one before, had no knowledge of what to expect. When the technologist left to have the radiologist take a look at some of the images, I thought I was done, so I hopped off the table and went to the nearest bathroom and let loose. Ah, relief!!!! But I found out the tech wasn't done. After I got back and then when she got back, she says to me (in a very accusatory tone of voice) "did you empty your bladder?" and I said "yes, I thought we were done. You just left without saying anything." So that was the end of that. I bet she told all of her patients from that point forward "not done yet! You can't pee!" Ha!

The last time I had one done the tech says "oh, you need to drink more water". Frick! I'd already had more than the recommended volume. I think it was a slow drain to my bladder or something because I downed a lot more water and then it was excruciating trying to hold back the tidal wave that was pushing to get out of my bladder.

You're right though...damned sadistic procedure!! One I hope never to have to go through again in my life!

As for female problems...well...I've always been a pretty heavy bleeder...(something that I understand blood fetishists get into)...and it's broken me down many times to the point where I'm a big sobbing mess . The worst part of it (aside from the embarrassment of leaking) is how it interferes with living life. If I'm working, I practically wear a diaper...and if I'm not, I'm pretty much housebound. I should add that this used to be the case. I'm on hormone therapy and although it's take a looooong time, my cycles are becoming lighter. There is still at least one "hell day", but I can manage that.

Oh! You must be all excited about the show called "Grimm" on NBC this fall....unless you don't watch t.v.

Yes!  After that last chemo of Fludara, my period went all wonky.  The vincristine, cytoxan, prednisone, and rituximab chemos didn't cause any problems with my monthlies, so I thought I was off the hook, lol.  Then came that rotten Fludara.

About two years into remisson and getting really tired of all the nausea and hot flashes from hell, I went to my gyn and whined, did a small foot stomp and tried to demand some hormone replacement.  He took some blood or whatever and said my estrogen level was okay.  I had a period that month so maybe that had something to do with it.  Even when I said I wanted it anyway, he muttered something about HRT might maybe give me cancer.

Mom was on it for over 30 years and had no problems at all, and certainly not any cancer.  She is in her seventies and had a hysterectomy way back when.

So instead of 7-9 days of heavy bleeding every blessed month, and yeah, I had to wear Dundee cloth baby diapers folded over twice, like a maxi pad, now I get them once every two to three months and they are usually pretty light.

The problem is this past month and a half.  I have had spotting on most days, sometimes skipping 2-3 days at a time.  I was getting very paranoid about cancer (had lymphoma before), in spite of the PET Scan I had recently for my lymphoma checkup, until mom reminded me that I have a fibroid, mwahahaha, and that this can cause some bleeding.  Either that or it can be my hormones.

About a year after the chemos finally stopped, I was taking milk thistle to help my liver clean itself out and the side effect was daily spotting.  Around that time was when my periods started making a reappearance after an absence of over a year.  (Stopped taking milk thistle cuz who wants to be bleeding a little every blessed day.)

Btw, I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I used to occasionally get ovulation pain from HELL.  I would be doubled over, panting like a dog, in agony.  At the emergency room, after the doc would push on my abdomen, they would almost have to pry me and my nails off the ceiling, and my heart was beating hard like a jackhammer.  He found nothing wrong, each time.  I started noticing that my period came exactly 14 days later, so I stopped going to the doctor and just stayed home.  With other times, the pain was mild, or I would feel something like a cramp at that area that didn't really hurt.

I tend to have that a day before my period or the first day of the period, but I only have one ovary left, so it happens roughly every 2nd period, what I found helped a lot is cutting down on coffee before, avoiding alcohol completely (not too difficult since I am a light drinker), cutting down on salt and all that and upping my intake of evening primrose oil, cod liver pills and ginger tea...

angelikaJ -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/25/2011 6:05:06 AM)

The last couple of months my ovulatory pain has changed: it lasts longer and the qualities of it have changed. The timing is the same.

I had irregular periods for years and now that I am in "perimenopause", they are very regular now.
I used to have cramping from hell but that is more bearable now.
I also had irregular in between bleeding that was due to a fibroid and a polyp...that ceased once they were removed.

The worst of it seems to be hitting me emotionally now.
I don't really get Pre-menstrual syndrome as my moodiness coincides with the start and first few days of my period... and for those few days I kind of become unreasonable.

They say the interval between the beginning of hot flashes (which haven't started) to the end of periods can last 5-8 years sometimes.
I am 49, so I think menopause will be hitting me a bit late.

I have had ovarian cysts that would hit towards the end of my period... NOT fun.
I attribute those to fertility drugs for IVF.

I go in for my hystorectomy consult and the 1st at 2:45. Also posted to my own tread, Bleeding during masterbation and sex. I am not happy but I do guess after bleeding now for two weeks and my own cancer and gene mutations it is time to be a big girl and do what I gotta do.

FelineFae -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/25/2011 2:34:01 PM)

It storming on the drive to hospital for the ultrasound,
the tech' was 45 mins late, all the while my bladder was 48 oz too full.
i hate ultrasounds.

DesFIP -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/25/2011 3:37:10 PM)

You don't need to drink all that water and have a full bladder if you ask for a transvaginal probe. They prefer to take pictures from the outside but they can put the mic up your vagina and take them from the inside. Which is a lot easier.

Charnegui -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/26/2011 2:53:08 AM)

I consider myself lucky....
I've had very hard times when ovulating and all, but abt 2 years ago, I had some bleedings, every single week for  2 or 3 days, 6 weeks in a row and then it stopped, completely.
Every six or 7 months I'm still having some kind of period but the pain is gone and so are all discomforts.
I'm ready, done..... my factory is shut down and won't restart again.

And (oh lucky me) I didn't have all the disadvantages (like hot or nausia or what else).....

But I still have to go to see the doctor coz I've got another little problem.... every now and then my breath is......... mwah... let's say it doesn't smell like flowers [:D]

I haven't been on IRC in quite some time, but there used to be channels on there where people would share programs...there's always bit torrent sites as well. I wouldn't advocate sharing movies or music for free, but TV? Yup.

Darn..... I am a blonde my dear.... I know a lot about pc's and software but I do not know anything about torrents *lol* Guess I've to ask someone very sweetly to do it for me then

edited for typo

DeviantlyD -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/26/2011 3:36:57 AM)

To Charnegui: About bit torrent. You need torrent software in order to download bit torrents. I'd go with http://www.bittorrent.com/ since this is the site of Bram Cohen's company. Bram "invented" the software. The dicey part comes in determining what site to download t.v. programs from. You don't want to unwittingly download a virus/malware. I've seen http://thepiratebay.org/tv around for a few years. I imagine that since they are still around, they are likely not a scam site. Anyhow, read the wikipedia article I linked at the start of this posting. It should help answer some questions. :)

FelineFae -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/26/2011 4:35:04 AM)

i've been probed before, [sm=abducted.gif]
but i still was told to drink the water and they also used the standard scanner as well.

i'm guessing the techs aren't allowed to tell you anything about what they see.
i'll ask " how the left one looking ?" and they just avoid the question or say " Oh, I'm looking at something else ".
The only feedback i got was when i told her " my uterus points to the back if that helps ", to which she replied
" I can see that ."

DesFIP -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/26/2011 7:34:29 AM)

No, techs aren't allowed to say anything. Only the radiologist is allowed to officially interpret it and get back to your doctor with the results. They don't like to use the vaginal probe, especially if it's a male tech. I've been asked to insert it myself. They will use it if they have to, but it's never their first choice. However if you're too full, you can tell them that since they were so late you had to use the restroom and they have to get the probe. Optimally they would like to have pictures from both inside and out.

My daughter watches tv on hulu.com, don't know what shows it carries though.

LaTigresse -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/26/2011 7:35:41 AM)

Just one thing to piss and moan about.......sometimes menopause kinda sucks.

Almost nonexistant sex drive and more fragile bits. Meh...

FelineFae -> RE: Lady Troubles (5/26/2011 8:00:46 AM)

*hugs*

In my teens, i had a treatment that stopped my estrogen production. OMG that was horrible and i was so sick.
i am SO not looking forward to menopause.[:o]
