Mon and tues I hit the treadmill. I didn't do anything over two miles because I was reading and studying while I walked. I'm making the best of my time damnit. Today I did a kick boxing blast routine and I am going to be sore. I'm glad I didn't use the heavier 10 pound hand weights the 20lb medicine ball was enough. Also, did some squats. I'm rocking some muscle in my arms, calf, and butt... Now if I could deal with the thighs and belly I'd be a happy lil camper. Ahh it will come with time. Off to make breakfast!

I had an orientation session at my new gym today. It's very small but it's got all the gear and it's women only. It's also incredibly cheap (relatively speaking).

I wasn't expecting what I got - an hour and a half workout, covering resistance training, free weights and cardio. I'm going to ache tomorrow! I'm also going back on sunday. I want to be fit again!

My girl found a wonderful website to track your progress & even track your exact route when you run/walk to calculate the exact mileage.
www.mapmywalk.com

Last night I power walked for 1hr 15minutes.

Been in a wheel chair for a little over a month now due to reconstructive foot surgery- I am used to eating whatever I want(loads of ice cream and bad stuffs) and not having it bother me due to an active lifestyle and job as a server(at a place with lots of ice cream).
I could tell I was gaining weight, but wasn't paying attention and now find I am really unhappy with where i am.

Getting the cast off today, and will find out just how much I can exercise with a boot. If anyone knows any sites with a good exercise plan for someone in a boot, that focuses more on the losing weight and toning, and isn't just about rehabilitation I would love it. Also one for younger people. No offense to anyone, but I know my body can be put through a lot more stress then someone who is in a wheelchair due to age related problems.

Also starting to diet... going on 3 days following it, which is a record for me!

I just went to MapMyWalk & mapped a .7 mile walk for myself. I plan to get out & do it later this afternoon. Right now I'm taking my owie hips back to bed. I had Pain & Torture yesterday & I'm feeling it today.

When I got my casts off & was able to get out of my wheelchair, one of the things I did was go to the local community center & swim as often as I could. I also took a water aerobics class. Can you take the boot off & get in the water, tltl?

Ooo I like that idea. Yes, I went to the doc today to get the cast off and he said I can get it wet.

I don't know why I didn't think of that, I do have access to a pool- thank you for putting it in my head!
Now I know what I am doing tomorrow.

I went to the gym just to do some time on the treadmill but ended up getting a workout in too. I put the incline up on 11 and just kept playing with the speed. Whatever bodypart wasn't already sore is what I worked.

Lat pulldowns 20x150, 12x150, 12x135. Seated cable rows 12x135, 12x180, 8x255. Barbell curls 10x95, 9x95, 8x95, 9x95. Skull crushers 10x90, 10x90, 9x95. Tricep pushdowns 15x90, 10x110. Preacher curl machine 20x95, 12x95, 15x95.

On top of the boxing body blast I did two miles with the dogs and 1 mile at school getting to and from my car to class. Today is my off day. I have kicked up my metabolism though and I am finally back to eating small regular meals.

blacksword404 -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (9/1/2011 11:13:41 AM)

I tried one of those myoplex shakes. Not terrible, but muscle milk puts them to shame.

impishlilhellcat -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (9/1/2011 11:27:22 AM)

Yeah, but muscle milk has a lot more calories I do believe. Muscle miilk is good if you are lifting. I'm not at least not till I lose tha belly

Comparing the two that are similar. Myoplex with 42 grams of protein and 300 calories and Monster milk with 320 calories and 45 grams of protein. Im guessing you drink the smaller version. The smaller muscle milk has about 220 calories.

Yes, I drink the lite version. So, it has 20 grams of protein and 125 calories. I really don't mind the french vanilla and it works really well because I have back to back classes so I can just pop one open in class and be good till I can eat.

I went to downtown Chicago today playing tourist & I walked a whole helluva lot. I was able to find some very reasonably priced lightweight walking shoes & I felt like I could walk all day!! I love feeling my body move again. I was so afraid that I would be crippled & not able to walk anymore. It's a joy to be able to do this!!! I have no idea how much we walked today but it was a lot more than I ever thought I could do again & the pain didn't really bother me until late this evening when we stopped in at a munch & I had to stand for awhile.

I mapped a walk around my neighborhood, which is a pretty good neighborhood for walking. There are a lot of streets that have little traffic; it's very residential here. I believe that I will begin to drop weight again now, as well as getting my body into much better shape. When I did this before, I was able to drop 50 lbs so easily. I'm sure that I will do it again. Especially since I've already dropped 20. I'd be so happy to see the scale under 200 again!!!!

Good for you. Walking is a good way to lose pounds. And if you live in a major city you can see the city while you do it.

LinnaeaBorealis -> RE: The *NEW and IMPROVED* CM Biggest Loser/Health and Fitness Thread! :D (9/2/2011 3:58:00 PM)

Yes, I do live in a major city. Chicago. Well, I don't live actually *in* Chicago, but it's only a mile away. It feels less like the 'burbs here & more like a neighborhood. It's a fascinating history with amazing architecture & a great history. It's fun to walk around & see the things that I've read about in books.

Walking is a wonderful way to lose pounds. When I lived in San Francisco, I walked an average of 35 miles per week & when I was eating to lose, I averaged 3 lbs per week lost until I had lost the 48 lbs I wanted to lose. Then I merely increased my caloric intake a bit & continued to walk.

That's not a bad plan.. You might know where all the good sights are. Maybe you should put a book together. Everybody else is.
