I guess they had better Canadians than the Sharks, eh? LMAO!!! Right on Heather! When my buddies and I are talking sports (which is a synonym for hockey..the other things the rest of you think of as sports are just childish games...well except for rugby, of course, but nobody wants to talk rugby....hmmm maybe I'll look up kiwisub, whip up a roast of lamb, a few dozen pints and we can talk the game of games). Anyway...when assesing a teams chances, we look at the Canadians on the roster. That is the bulk and backbone of any team. Without a solid component of skilled Canadians the team hasn't got a chance. the Europeans provide some flash, and are often the star point getters, but that isn't going to win games for you consistently. And sorry to my dear friends south of the border, but you don't even figure in the calculations. Americans are just there to fill out the rosters, with the odd exception here and there. ETA: Before somebody starts shouting that I am biased, keep in mind that over 50% of the players in the NHL are Canadian.
