Whats wrong with paying for the things that we need?

He isnt saying Joplin will not get any federal relief  as you erroneously seem to believe...

You see, in the real world you cant really just print money, as so many Washington insiders like to pretend.  And we are already so far in debt that the situation has gone far, far beyond ridiculous...

What do you think the voters were saying when they swept Republicans into office in the 2010 elections if not cut the deficit?

If I had a home destroyed and perhaps family killed and some asshole in congress started harping on budget cuts before aid I would not vote Republican again...And I'll bet his comments will be remembered there.

It shows his lack of common decency and sense and he does not deserve to be a representative of the people.

And you might want to check your facts because aid is already there, FEMA is on the ground in Missouri now.

Thats not the title of the thread at all, Tom.  Again, you need facts. You may by way of saving yourself from your lies here point out where 'any cuts at all' and republicans are monsters
 
Has been said by anyone on this thread, or anyone in the house or anyone in the senate or the president of the united states, or Fidel Castro, or Spanish Communists, or Hugo Chavez, or Sarah Palin.......hell, anybody.
 
The issue is that with an already fucked up insurance system, the proposal is to dump the medicare folks on the republican insurance market and let them fend for themselves while the republicans add to the corporate welfare rolls.   Then, heavily in debt, and bankrupt your same teabaggers are going to have to throw these people on the welfare rolls so we dont have them dying in the streets and blame democrats for entitlements, call these people lazy,and then tell us how they would fix it.

This is republican corporate welfare at its finest, line insurance corporation coffers, and then throw the whole thing off book, as you did with Nixon and the USPS, the wars, tax cuts, outsourcing,  Star Wars spending, and when it has to come back on book, at pay up time, you blame the democrats for the bad decisions, the deficit the debt that you create.

Dont you read your own posts?

The aid is on the ground, but still youve got to attack the only responsible people in Washington. Its responsible government to pay for spending, something that this nation has been lacking for too long now, and its refreshing to finally hear that someone is standing up for that principal!

In your own personal life there are budgetary demands. If you could just write a check and save the world that would be terrific but thats just not realistic, and government is no different.

Bleeding hearts who have no sense of this very reality do charitible causes far more harm than good in my opinion, because they destroy the countrys very foundation - which that in turn harms everyone.

I have no problem with putting caps on 11th hour heroic medicine under medicare, where no caps exist today. We need to reign in the DELUSION of miracle cures from expensive last minute medicine that many 11th hour people have.  That is the kind of shit that WILL bankrupt this country. Dying people need hospice and care, not delusions of grandeur whispered into their ear by doctors who make big money doing useless procedures.

But I agree, doing general cuts to medicare (as opposed to 11th hour variety) to fund more tax cuts for the rich will never blow over with most of the population.

Please explain who are the 11th hour people? There are plenty of "dying/critical care/end of life care" patients of all ages.

I hope you mean 11th hour people of ALL ages, because 11th hour people are not limited to those on medicare.


If you are proposing cutting certain services to seniors, be prepared to cut them for human beings at any age.

Are you seriously talking about limiting certain procedures and types of care based on age?
