Surely it does. [:D]

NeedToUseYou -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 7:02:31 AM)

Fuck Obama, Fuck Reid, Fuck Bush, Fuck 90% of Repubs, and dems.

We should be able to agree at this point the vast majority of politicians are all pieces of shit. Why fight about it.

Elitist slime, or wannabe boot licking slime, that is what composes the vast majority of all political office.

So, how about we just agree, if they voted for the patriot act, then they are a piece of shit, whether republican or democrat.

And if the people vote OBAMA back in or Reid, or the repubs, or demos that voted for it, then we are a nation of morons.

And then once Obama the patriot Act Lover gets reelected, and most of the shiteaters get reelected, just be content, that it will all collapse at some point because you can't fix a system, if it is run by paranoid self serving assholes, and if the majority of the public support proven assholes, well the writing is on the wall.

There are no constitutionalists in the republican party, so that dog don't get his nuts licked.

If you google "Ron Paul Patriot Act," you'll see that his statements and votes against it are 100% consistent. I know that dropping his name here will make some people emotional, but let's stay on target. The Bill of Rights--or what's left of it--needs our support right now.

I think the Patriot act was a needed bi partisan good piece of legislation. My only problem is with politicians and parrtisans who pretend to oppose it for Political points. THe folks who screamed to the heavens about it, but say nothing now about Obama working for its re election.

rank disgusting hypocrites.

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 7:15:09 AM)

I see all the **conservatives** making "reasonable" soul searching points for debate and arguments.
SNORTSSSSSSSSSS have fun chaps,
With the level of debate they offer, Im gonna go watch some timber warp.

Alot of folks both sides don't care for the patriot act.   That don't by any stretch of the imagination make Ron Paul a constitutionalist, he didn't vote on the cut house salaries and expenses so the fiscal conservative crap is out the window.

He's a Constitutionalist with an ironclad voting record in regard to the Patriot Act and this thread. So, if voting for Ron Paul in the primary is out of the question, what do you think we should do to guard the Bill of Rights?

Owner59 -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 7:39:27 AM)

Dr Paul has credibility and isn`t a typical republican.

Worts and all,at least he`s honest. You can depend on him to not be wishy-whashy flippy-floppy on issues.

He may be the leader of the new GOP when the present one splits, tho it may not be called that.

mnottertail -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 7:41:46 AM)

Throw most republicans out of office.  Disenfranchise corporations, give them every opportunity and responsibility set forth under the bill of rights, constitution and law of this land that the American People as individuals in this great country are accorded.

Unfortunately, he's also financially unrealistic.

Fair enough. I'd throw most Democrats out, too. For what it's worth, warmongers and bailed out corporations despise Ron Paul. I think if you take everybody who'd vote for for Ron Paul if they thought he had a chance, and everybody who'd vote for Dennis Kucinich if they thought he had a chance, and put them in the same room, it would be a big fucking room. And I think focusing on the Bill of Rights can help make that happen. My litmus test is whether or not a candidate supports both the 1st AND 2nd amendments. Another test is whether or not they acknowledge that I own my body AND my property. Most seem to pick one or the other, and then just half-ass it to get enough votes from the center.

The "Patriot" Act is a travesty, pure and simple.

I don't care who signs/votes for it. It spits on the Constitution.

Usurper Obama/Soetoro is THE travesty, plainly and simply.

I don't care what he signs/vetos. He has been spitting on the Constitution ever since he announced his candidacy for POTUS.

Musicmystery -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 8:30:50 AM)

That's why I call him Bush Light.

Would you vote for someone who is adamantly against abortion?

hot4bondage -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 8:36:55 AM)

FWIW, I realize that Paul and Kucinich would both fail my litmus test, but no major party candidate on the national level will ever mirror one's views 100%.

mnottertail -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 8:41:34 AM)

Yeah, I've seen what he has accomplished in 20+ years in congress, and abhor his deplorable economics.  He gets a big hell no from me.

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 8:41:57 AM)

They would fail mine for the same reason. Its my opinion that the Constitutionalists are too strict in their interpretation. If we had left the consitution as the Founders wrote it, women would not vote, any man who wasnt "free" would get only 3/5ths of a vote, slavery would still be legal.... the list goes on and on. And these are the literal interpretations.

servinggirlwntd -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 9:06:50 AM)

As others have pointed out, my statement above was correct.
Regardless of what you think of his other views, if you are furious about losing our civil liberties via the patriot act, you can register republican in the primaries and cast a presidential vote against the patriot act by voting for Ron Paul.
What you do in the general election is another question.
MN: at least acknowledge your mistake when you said there were NO constitutionalists running for president. You may not like many of his policies but Ron Paul certainly fits.

pimpy -> RE: Obama signs Patriot Act (6/1/2011 9:17:23 AM)

I once liked a lot of things about Ron Paul; I used to like him a lot. I agreed with him about many things, from his views on drug prohibition to his generally non-interventionist outlook and, most of all, his willingness to be different and even to occasionally disappoint his own followers, a rare quality in a prominent politician.

But no, fuck Ron Paul. Paul thinks there is really no role for government in public life. He’s talked about abolishing half the departments in the federal government, including the Department of Education, the HHS, the Department of Energy, Homeland Security, the IRS… I mean, not that I enjoy paying taxes, but these are radical positions in my mind. He’s entitled to believe these things, but I don’t. I think the government does have a role in society.
