I think I see a solution to this issue...

Give ME this lady's phone number instead. Yes, it is creepy of me to want that, but I'm honest about my creepiness so it's totally fine. I'll talk to her for a while and explain exactly how much fun she could be having if she abandons her vanilla ways and embraces some kinky possibilities. Inevitably she'll be won over by my enticing suggestions and I'll persuade her to join me, VC, Heather and Hannah in our extensive lesbianism.

Phil will no longer have a girlfriend so the issue of verifying her existence will no longer be a problem. Plus, there'll be one more lesbian in the world. It's a win-win situation.

Could you perhaps use the words 'weird' and 'creepy' a few more times, OP? I don't think that you have made your point just yet.

I know many folks from the boards IRL, most of whom (I hope) would be happy to confirm my existence should someone ask, and those are just my friends. I really don't see the big deal about asking a partner to say 'hi', esp if I were to post that said partner was reading the boards with me.

It is if they want to actually have a non poster talk to them yes. That's so weird as a number of others have agreed. I do understand the person asking weird stuff is a regular poster you converse with regularly though.
