Bad visual. . . . bad visual. . . . . . quick - bleach my brain!

Dunno why, but people say that a LOT around me [8|]

No one has mentioned using condoms on insertables of all material (except for electro, which requires conductivity). Makes clean-up a breeze. Polyisoprene condoms are available for those with a latex allergy.

Personally I prefer glass anal plug over the flexible ones, the main reason is the latex or silicon has a smell on it after several times of use.

OK.....somebody has to ask...why are you sniffing the butt plugs......

lol maybe I'm just the one of the few who care about it

Good point and one that I had never considered and I'm sitting here wondering why I hadn't. I even have those condoms.

Don't get jelly toys, they're made with toxic chemicals called pthalates that's a softener, which makes them all soft and jiggly, but the the chemicals off gas, and jellies can cause burns and reactions to the mucus membrane area's, your pussy, your ass, your mouth, and if you have the chemicals on your hand an then play with someone's pussy, ass or mouth, then that will likely cause a very nasty burning sensation too.

The chemicals has already been banned in kid toys, so i don't know why it's not banned in sex toys, probably cause most them are sold as "novelties"

I really want to ask how you know that but I'm not sure I want to know.
I will never buy a jelly toy. Thank you for the heads up.

I've had this experience with jelly toys as well. Simple fix: condom.

I had a jelly toy and it gave me a horrible burning sensation when using it. , other people had the same reaction too, and someone around here mentioned that cheap jelly toys have pthalates, and you can read about it there's articles on the dangers of pthalates and cheap crappy made toys.

Bunnies sniff anything...dont mind her!!!
I love the pious face tho:)
Hard plastic/rubber will often have a smell of the plastic..I would not use clear jel kinds, altho they are fine if wrapped in a condom and cleaned well.
Metal ones depend on the type of metal used, stainless is heavy, aluminium is much much lighter. Glass is fun heated or cold
Silicone is great but use the right kind of lube. can be boiled quite happily, doesnt disintegrate if you use medical grade so quickly.
I like glass but, you cant inflate glass plugs
have fun

But, in your opinion, is heavy or light better for extended use?
And, which material is (Iyo) better for extended use?

and thank you for commenting .

Jelly toys can still melt your other toys if they come in contact with them long enough , so you'd always and forever have to keep it separate from all other toys, and besides who wants a toy leaching toxic chemicals you always have to put condoms on to use? Why not forgo cheap toys that leach toxic chemicals all together. A lot of other toy options can be just as cheap or comparitivly cheap as jelly, and are not toxic leechy pieces of crap.

I'm ok spending the money on an item. Like I said - I'd rather buy quality the first time around.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Insertables - Pro's and Cons (5/30/2011 3:04:18 PM)

Perhaps not all tails are that huge check out some places online, and check the measurements and diameters. You might like what you find. Someone I once considered a friend bought a beautiful "fox tail" butt plug. I don't know how she liked it our friendship ended shortly after she bought it, but still wouldn't hurt to look around at sex toy and bdsm gear shops online.

And not to get off topic but every time the topic of plugs comes up it reminds me of going looking for a tail with my first sub.
yeah, that ended any desire (from either of us) for her to have a tail.

I actually went looking online right after I posted that. I found a reasonably priced, and reasonably sized, one so that is definitely back on my list.

I own a toy store, so I find different people like different things, for different reasons, I can honestly say I have never had extended period of a butt plug in place. But I know someone who likes a heavier one because it helps with the feeling of fullness and being filled while restrained or laying down, but walking around and doing "normal things" I would go for a lighter one. If you get an attack of the sneezes or even a coughing fit, heavier ones will play havoc.
That tho that has its humiliation aspect too.
Dont make me laugh or sneeze wearing ben wa balls out in public!!!! Luckily Ive never had to deal with a butt plug, if that changes I will feel able to give more detailed advice:)

Good advise all the way around. I never would have considered the implications of sneezing, coughing or laughing. I was only considering the weight over a few, or several, hours duration. Thanks!

True silicone should not do that if it is properly cleaned.
You might have that as an issue if you are not careful with what type of lube you are using.
The safest option for silicone is water-based lubes. As mentioned silicone based lubricants (such as dimethicone) can degrade silicone toys.

There are many non-pthalate alternatives btw; most better toy manufactuers are discontinuing the use of pthalates in their product.

Silicone is non-porous which is why it does not absorb odors.

*pious face*

Just because it's not your kink....[:D]

Grins...thank you for the tip on your lovely chapeau. I did once receive a very personable military chicken from the wondrous shop of Poise.

Nope...not my kink...but who am I to judge.
