Status: offline 		It's a natural antiseptic, what you were thinking of is some of the numbing creams that are used by piercers and tattoo artists but I think most of them are not available over the counter.

Status: offline 		There are creams that have small amounts of numbing agents (usually benzocaine) designed for men.
The problem is some men have extreme sensitivites to those.

Status: offline 		Benadryl Itch Stopping Gel (for topical/skin use) is another option that you can buy most anywhere. It makes erections difficult and cuts down on sensitivity. It may still be possible to come, but since it takes the fun out the of the process there is less encouragement to persevere to that point.

The Benadryl skin gel also has little or no smell (some tea tree oil creams can have a very strong nauseating smell). Seems ok for occasional use, however, I'm not a medical expert on this. At least it is clear that if there is going to be licking or oral sex of the treated areas you definitely need to look at substances that can be taken internally (the Benadryl skin gel is for external use only.)

Status: offline 		there are a number of over the counter medications that can be used to desensitize the area. lidocaine/novacaine/benzocaine. because the skin is keratinized, it makes absorption/penetration somewhat difficult. start with the lowest percentage medication you can find, and then slowly switch to a higher concentration if the desire effect is not achieved. Ora-gel is available at any pharmacy in the USA. there are also a number of ointments used to treat sunburns that will provide the same effect. you can apply the ointment before playing--just be sure to wipe the area before intercourse--or you could anesthetize your partner as well. lidocaine will usually wear off in about 30-45 minutes---that should be more than adequate for your needs!

Status: offline 		Male doctors up here routinely use lidocaine (aka xylocaine) in order to last longer.

Just remember to rinse it off after a few minutes, and be on the lookout for sensitivity reactions the first time around.

Keratinization is a non-problem, as the uptake is still going to be more than sufficient, but it might need to stay on longer, depending on the overall degree of keratinization there. As usual, a creative partner will be able to come up with a million entertaining ways to determine the point when it has started working sufficiently.

Edit: Low concentrations are available over the counter.
