Pretty simple. It's the season for fresh peaches. Room temp or ice cold?

Perfection in a peach for ME........ walk out into the orchard, pick......and eat!

I've done some very sexy stuff with a few freshly picked, sun warmed, juicy.....peaches.

Lady up the street from my office has both Fresh Peaches from Ga. and South Carolina!....I am in take a bite, watch out for the juice heaven!

windchymes -> RE: Peaches (6/14/2011 9:11:53 AM)

Room temp or warmer, yes. Of course, if they happened to have a big scoop of vanilla ice cream under them or on them, that would be okay, too! Yum!

GreedyTop -> RE: Peaches (6/14/2011 9:13:01 AM)

peaches, to me, just arent RIGHT unless they are fresh from the tree....

When I was caring for my former mother-in-law, one of the challenges was to get her to take in enough nutrition & to gain up to a healthier weight. We lived in an area with farms & orchards nearby & I would get her fresh organic peaches, the kind that had been allowed to ripen in the sun the requisite amount of time to have that wonderful delicious peachy flavor. She loved them & when she would say she only wanted ice cream for dinner, I'd make her a big bowl of ice cream & cut up a room temp fresh peach on it & she'd gobble it down. It was so successful in increasing her appetite that the Dr told us she needed to stop gaining weight!!!

Fresh off the tree temp is awesome....or ice cold, only if in fresh homemade ice cream.  Maybe it is because I am from Georgia, but man I dig peaches!!

windchymes -> RE: Peaches (6/14/2011 11:27:04 AM)

DesFIP -> RE: Peaches (6/14/2011 12:24:16 PM)

Room temp for eating fresh.
Ice cold in sangria or iced tea.
Hot in a cobbler, crisp or pie or ice cream.

It's all good.

soul2share -> RE: Peaches (6/14/2011 3:50:40 PM)

Well, I checked ice cold, but fresh off the tree is great too.....just as long as it's totally fresh!  Man.....now I'm gonna have to go get me some.......at least I'm in the right area for them!

People think I'm strange because I eat ALL of my fruits cold.  Keeping them cold seems to make them last a little bit longer than leaving it on the counter in a bowl.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE barely yellow, ok yeah, green, bananas fresh from the fridge.  The taste isn't too sweet, and the texture is firm, not all mushy.  Sweet, mushy ripe nanners are strictly used for nanner bread in my house.  I grew up in an area of the country where we grew EVERYTHING but tropical fruits, and I do so miss my actual FRESH produce....not what the stores call "fresh" produce.
