bigblock61 -> Pain is such a rush! (6/15/2011 4:28:46 PM)

This whole torrid affair starts off with me at work this morning. I work for Ford Motor Company at their transmission plant as a prototype mechanic. I'm working with a transmission on my bench. I finish building the trans for testing and go to remove it from my bench. We have an electric wench with chains attached to it for lifting and moving the transmissions. I hook up the chains and press the up button on the controls for the wench when all of a sudden a bolt of pain shoots through my body starting at my finger. Yes I caught my finger in the chains. I was impressed with the clarity of my mind at that moment. Talking to myself it was, let go of the up button, don't yank your hand away, lower the transmission then remove your hand. Once I was free of the chains I was able to assess the damage to my crushed finger. Thank god nothing was broken or mangled beyond recognition. The clinic gave me lots of drugs and the afternoon off. BONUS! So here I sit with my finger in a splint trying to type this thread. (Probably not the best of ideas.)

Right about now you are probably wondering what this has to do with BDSM. Nothing I just wanted to share. [:)]

( :: [] :: ) Here's an extra bandaid for all the ouchies later, when the meds wear off. [:D]

Thanks I'll cherish this band-aid forever "snif".  Really though the meds have now worn off and I can't believe I posted in this forum when the right one's just a little further down. oops! Let this be a lesson to you kids, pain, drugs and typing don't mix!

put some ice on them when the pills go off, helps with the pain & with the swollen,
hope you will never have to face that again, except if you liked it [:D]

Definitely not an enjoyable pain, thanks for the advice though. I've got the bowl of ice right here. I went back to building transmissions today and every time I saw the trans hoist I pointed at it saying what are you lookin at chain? You want a piece of me? Don't let me catch you outside! :P

I'm a masochist and have always craved pain when really stressed out.    I didn't realize the effect until about 10 years ago.....

I was managing a field job that was going all to hell and I was really stressed.  I shut the truck door and went to walk away, a pull on my arm let me know that my thumb was still hung in the door frame.   I calmly unlocked the door to get my thumb out and went on, my safety guy made me have it checked and I had torn some tendons.   I still have friends who tell that story in an OMG he's tough fashion.

I would be in tears and screaming like a school girl if that happened today.   I'm not sure how many people this applies to, but my perception of pain differs at times and it gets really low when I'm in a lot of anxiety.

I must commend you on your excellent use of grammar and punctuation while on pain meds and in a splint!

All you ignoramuses too lazy to use spell check, let this be an shining example to you.

Trust me it involves many, many retypes right now.

I get where you are coming from. Depending on my mood, I handle pain differently.

My doctor won't do it.[>:] I keep saying to him "Do me doc!" He just shakes his head and tells me "I don't think so." Maybe he's getting the wrong impression?
