Not sure how I came upon this but here it is.

I bet RealOne could have a field day with this.

LOL... We used to joke that our family kept the Presidency in the family. I heard about this young ladies research and would love to see it! Mine was stolen. Mine showed we were related to at least half the Presidents. We have some family books, but we all live in different areas and I can't get my hands on them. There were a few kings... a few bad guys, an actress or two, some burned at the stake and I can't forget to mention the Mayflower Madam!

It all amounts to about zilch... but it is kind of fun to check out.

I wonder if she knows that anyone related to the Mayflower passengers can get a scholarship for college. That would be about the only worth I can see in it all. lol

Virtually everyone who can trace any ancestry to England is related to John Lackland. The man lived 800 years ago.

These claims come out every so often and a lot more weight is attaced to them than should be.

I agree! [;)]

Well if you think about it, John I lived roughly 800 years ago, so that's 30 or so generations. Each generation you go back doubles the number of direct ancestors, so 30 generations gives you over a billion direct ancestors each. Estimates of the total world population in the year 1200 are less than 500 million. So even if you fudge and round those numbers, each of us is descended from a billion of those 500 million.

Mathematically speaking, that's more than "interesting". [:D]

Good on her for working so hard.

I love that she traced the presidents through their mothers which other historians hadn't done. Well... golly. that's 50% of the equation. How did they miss that?

I thought she did a great job too. Curious as well as to why they'd leave out that part of the equation.
