I was recently asked by a dominate to become his submissive. I asked him if he was open-minded about switching, but he said he wasn't. I like being dominated, but I also love to dominate men. Can a switch become a submissive and if so, is she ever content with the situation?

I think it all depends upon who you are dominating and who dominates you.  I know a few dommes who are submissive to only one man.  I don't know why you couldn't be content.

I am more submissive than a switch, but every now and then enjoy topping and am very effective at it. Can I be happy being sub? Sure I can. In fact that is much more my comfort zone.

The answer to the question "Does anyone else...?" is ALWAYS yes.

If you can imagine it, people out there are doing it, and very happy with it.

The question of whether it is where you see YOUR life going and will be fulfilled by- only you can answer that.

I'm actually considering this myself right now. I believe that if the right Domme came along and inspried my submission to the point where I could give myself over to her completely, I believe I could do it.

You have to figure out what you can do and what you want. If you are willing to give up your Dom/top side in order to serve him, then go for it. But if you think he might bend at some point regarding your switching, don't expect him to if he isn't open-minded about it.

I know a submissive who is allowed by her Master to Dominate other subs/switches.  However in their relationship, she is his submissive and there is no switching between them.  Perhaps you can explore with him whether this is an option for your relationship with him.

Lashra -> RE: switches becoming submissive (5/15/2006 7:58:44 PM)

I am more Dominant and I dont switch often except with my current sub. I would say you might get bored after awhile, after all your dominant traits want to come out and play too. I guess if I were you my question to him would be, what turns him off about switching? If he replies "I don't think you could respect a man that kneels before you."  Keep looking, if  a Dom/me can't respect their sub they don't deserve them.

I am an owned slaved and my Master lives far away.  i just moved back home to be near my family. i never thought that anyone could dominate me it was to my core. i met this Man and my life changed. i found what i had been searching for. i am no longer a Domme but i do consider myself a switch. i also have a sadistic side to me that i would enjoy using a pain slut.

Submit to him and dom another.  Just one example of being a switch among hundreds, if not thousands.

All you have to do is find your niche and most likely, you will find others in there with you as well.

I just posted this in a different topic but it would fit here as well.......................One of my best subs is a switch.........he was full Dom until we got to talking and knowing each other.........now he is my sub and says he loves it......but his being Dom allows him to really appreciate his submissive time. I think he is addicted to his sub space lol. At any rate I for one love switches.
But,
I feel I must also add,  why if he knows your a Domme would he ask you to switch for him?
If you make the choice to be a sub for him be careful and make it part of the bargin that you ARE also a DOMME,,,,don't let him take you from you dear.
Personally, I won't switch for any man, but thats because of who I am and my past.

The answer to your question is, of course a switch can become a submissive and be content in the situation.  But not all can.

Whether or not you can is a question only you can answer.  And you may not be able to answer it until you try it.  That's what exploration is all about.

Very well said. I've noticed quite a few Dom's who won't hestitate to ask a woman to give up being Domme for them. I wonder why they think this is so easy to do when if they were asked to do the same thing they'd run for the hills? Could it be that age old double standard?

Lashra. . .

Yes I think that it is that age old double standard.

OP. . .

I would really recommend sitting down and talking to this guy about why he wants you to change your orientation and what options that you would have to fulfill that part of you.  Switch is a broad term that describes many things. . . I think you should also discuss with him what it means to you.

Best,

LaMalinche

My first experience with D/s I was the sub to a very alpha man. He would walk into a room and people would look to him for instruction. He embraced my dominant nature and molded it to fit his needs while still allowing me to be myself to the outside world. I think that how this fits for you depends on the dom. This one doesn't sound like your topside will be seeing daylight for quite a while. You need to think about whether that would be enough for you.
Many doms like an authoritative, strong and wise girl that bows to them. I think it feeds the whole ego/ power dynamic that they can get a powerful woman to kneel for them. There are enough out there that would be interested in that type of arrangement that I think passing on this one shouldn't be that big a deal.
