SAMHAIN09 -> What would do in this situation? (6/22/2011 5:58:10 PM)

Okay say the people in your life be it neighbors or complete strangers found out about your lifestyle and treated you like a freak even leaving threatening messages and vandalizing your property. I personally if it wasn't dangerous would finger them and say "Go fuck yourselves you so called normal people." but if it got to dangerous I would probably leave.

juliaoceania -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/22/2011 6:02:12 PM)

I cannot imagine that happening...

If it did I would suspect it was because I was not following my "Good Neighbor Policy", which means I was throwing play parties without asking the neighbors if they would like to come. Everyone knows if you have a party without inviting the neighbors you are an asshole.

NuevaVida -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/22/2011 8:01:27 PM)

If I've outwardly given them reason to be upset (like what Julia said about loud play parties), then I'd apologize and be a nicer neighbor.  If their threats and vandalisms came simply because they know he likes to tie me and spank me?  I'd file a police report.  I'm in an apartment complex so I'd let the property managers know, too.

I'd get my hands on an ak-47 and kill all of the muthafuckas that were annoying me.

I'd hire Aileen.

DarkSteven -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/23/2011 4:59:12 AM)

It'd be far more likely that they did that because they found out that I'm conducting experiments on reanimating human flesh in my basement.  I've even bought shares in pitchfork and torch companies in case they do find out.

DesFIP -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/23/2011 5:29:09 AM)

I can't even imagine how my neighbors would find out. They stole my mail and found a flogger in it? Or that anyone would care what I do unless I was having loud parties and the guests were parking on their lawn. In which case I would expect them to be the ones calling the police and having the cars towed.

This hypothetical situation is so unreal as to not be imaginable. Now if a neighbor and I had an argument over a tree, and he decided to vandalize my property, I'd call the police of course. I might even put up security cameras to have proof.

Kana -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/23/2011 5:34:38 AM)

If they threatened or vandalized I'd do what any citizen should-call the cops on a criminal.

Grammar Police Citation.
Missing subject in the subject line.
Irony.
Carry on.

leadership527 -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/23/2011 7:13:51 AM)

I can easily imagine my neighbors finding out. I'm not exactly all that private about it. If they "left threatening messages" and "vandalized my property" I would say that they are committing crimes and I'd call the police. I don't honestly understand why this would occupy any more of my time than that. The down side of living in a society is that sometimes "society" tries to tell you what to do. The big UP side though, is that there are police to call when shit like this happens.

If the police didn't care about my safety and security because I was kinky, then I would presume that I am living in the wrong city/state/country and move.

Why did this thought occur to you?

I was wondering the same thing.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/23/2011 7:24:40 AM)

nosy neighbors are one reason i want to move back out of the city.

but anyway, without pondering the "how" because sometimes little wacky things happen, like a flogger falls out of your trunk while you're digging for something else and the neighbor sees it from the porch, or they notice the collar, google it, and decide "i don't want people like that living next door!" -- if they were leaving me messages, i woudl save the recordings as evidence of harassment, and if they were vandalizing my property, i'd call the police. flipping them off wouldn't do you much good because middle fingers aren't that scary, and they might take that as more of a challenge than anything.

sexyred1 -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/23/2011 8:41:24 AM)

I live in an apartment building with thin walls.

I am sure everyone has heard me screaming and just assumed I have an abusive boyfriend.

Obviously no one cared because no one ever bothered me and I lived here for a long time.

Except one guy who lived upstairs. Everytime he saw me in the elevator he would smirk and wink.

LadyPact -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/23/2011 8:53:20 AM)

I've never had the problem.  My neighbors in My last two locations knew that I was kinky, or at the very minimum poly.  We had exactly one time that a neighbor asked MP if he knew I had another man living at the house while he was gone.  All he did was smile and say that he was absolutely aware of it.

These days, kink is such a fad I'd be surprised if anybody had the situation that you're describing.  If it's a real situation, rather than your usual hypothetical situations, OP, you might want to consider that there's another reason for the problems.

hmm, really? you find living out in the country to be less intrusive? I grew up on a farm near a small town and I couldnt stand it, nosy people making up false stories and everyone taking them as gospel. ugh! I find the city to be much more anonymous and I never felt so free as when I moved to the city. Well, thats just my viewpoint, i just find it interesting when someone has a totally different viewpoint, to each his/her own. [:)]

Just a general comment, one would have to be sure of exactly who was doing things, sometimes you think its a neighbor but maybe its an ex, or someone you turned down for a date, etc...

if someone was continually harassing and/or vandalizing etc then I think i would just move, i would not want it to escalate to the point of me being hurt or worse...

juliaoceania -> RE: What would do in this situation? (6/23/2011 9:00:07 AM)

I am moving in a couple of weeks to a new house. Our real estate agent went over and did some repairs on the fence to make sure it would pass inspection, and the neighbors asked if there were any kids moving in. Our agent said "No, a senior citizen, a woman about my age, and a young man in his 20s are moving in"...they said "oh good, we like to sunbathe naked and little kids like to look through cracks"

The only one who was bothered by this is my 6 foot 4 son who needs to landscape the backyard over the next few months... he is tall enough to see over the fence and these people are my age[:D]

no worries, i get that, too. i grew up outside a small town where everyone knew my relatives and thought that meant they knew me. a guy made up a rumor about my grandpa dying because they were business competitors. if people saw you doing something they thought you shouldn't, they'd tell everyone they knew. =p but i have found that it's not really any different in the city. the difference in the country is that your neighbor has to stare over a mile to see into your window, while in the city, they can glance into your bedroom from their dinner table. =p

i guess that's what i don't like; the proximity. people are people, and people are everywhere. there will be silliness and snoopery and other types of gooniness, but at least, in the country, your yard is pretty much your yard. =p haha
