But I would gently suggest that the reverse applies, too: that women don't always have a 'common sense' view of men. Or certain men: the ones who write well, for instance. I've seen that on websites like this time and time again.

I don't really know what women need. I'd hate to be one, that's the only thing of which I'm certain.

I've concluded that, unfortunately for you femdoms, all the ludicrous standards of what is required to be 'feminine' for vanilla woman are magnified tenfold for femdoms. You have a perfect arse and nice big blubbery lips, you qualify as a Goddess with a huge capital 'G'. You don't . . . well . . . .

I find all this stuff so dismal, sometimes.

I've really developed a major downer on that idea of 'common sense', Lady Hib. I mean, it's commonly the sense of a certain type of submale that every pic of a half-witted, wallet-snatching 20-year-old woman with unfeasibly big grooblies, wearing too much make-up and demanding "tribute", must be bona fide, isn't it?

Great comment. The thing is to find someone, male or female who is extraordinary to YOU. And most people do not understand that because they live in a fantasy, porn fueled world.

Women look for compatibility, I think you will find. What they want varies.

But here's some random advice about seeking the company of women, at least based on what I recall from being around your age, and from listening and observing the gripes of my teenage niece and her friends around your age.

* Women like men who are comfortable in their own skin. Like who you are.
* Women like men who listen to them and ask questions about them, and are clearly interested in them as a person. Not a sexual conquest or kink provider.
* Women don't like men who brag or talk to much about themselves or seem like they are trying too hard (my niece describes this as guys who are cute but "really awkward.")
* Women like men who are good at something (capability is sexy).

Since you are young, you have plenty of time and options to work on things that will make you feel good about yourself - exercise, hobbies, outdoors. Try to get into social situations that are small groups with both women and men. If you don't have a good guy friend as a wing man, get one - one that will offset your more introverted qualities.

Instead of waiting for Ms. Kinky Right (and do yourself the disservice of something like 1 date a year, based on sheer numbers), work on having fun with the opposite sex - first dates, first kisses, hit and misses. The comfort you develop in dating will benefit you and you can do this easily while you are young.

These are just my opinions. What I look for in a sub (bottom) is a whole 'nother can of worms.

What I look for in a man is : understanding that I am not a generic mock up of women in general, which makes this question null and void. Why? Because, what I look for is not what the woman in the next profile over will be looking for, necessarily.
I think most of us want to be seen as persons with real personalities, and, for the men to be the same, though - and, for the man to listen, act respectfully, and, to be truthful.
