ok I am being out of date, with all of that above,

grafic card ok, seek one with 1 or more HDMI port,
from that HDMI port you can provide HD picture with 5.1 sound system with one cable,
easy, effective & fast,

PS: you are going to need at least 3.7 CPU with L2cash min 3 MB, (recommend AMD)
3 GB of memory,
1 GB exeternal meory of grafic card, (recomend ATI)
(AMD & ATI are the same company, when you own that system you feel the speed, harmony in your PC)
however, if you decide to own an AMD CPU you will need a good fan or a good cooling system, I think they did get over with that issue,

Could I gently point out that the OP's title included the word 'computer' and that this should make it abundantly clear that this is a males-only thread? Thank you.

NeedToUseYou -> RE: Who has the slickest computer configuration (7/1/2011 6:29:57 PM)

My computer is in a case I've had for about 5 years. The side is missing, I'm not sure where it is at anymore, the other computer's side is missing as well.

The CPU is a 6 core AMD at 3 GHZ, running off built in video, and it has 8 gigs of ram, and 1 terabyte hard drive x 2 and 2 terabyte hard drive x 1.

It doesn't even have a dvd drive in it. LOL, nor a floppy. If I require a dvd drive I have a portable one for it.

Every few months, I set the vacuum on reverse and blow the dust out, seeing it acts as an air cleaner without it's side on.

HEHE, and that is my main computer. It does have hdmi out, vga out, and DVI out, I most just use one screen though, and that is I believe a 23 inch screen.

Oh, running windows 7.

That's my primary computer / work computer / porn machine / netflix player / jukebox / rambling on the internet device.

I also bought an Iconia Tab A500, but it gets little use really, though I'm always thinking of uses for it, I just never actually implement them.

I do have a dual core E-machine, but it just sits there more or less. I should donate it to some orphan or something before it becomes completely useless junk.

As I sit here with my 4 year old Dell laptop (and all I know is it's running Windows 7) all this "techie, computer" talk is getting me all hot and bothered. [:)]

In all seriousness, I really do enjoy this ... seems I learn a little more each time. [:)]

xssve -> RE: Who has the slickest computer configuration (7/2/2011 8:04:20 AM)

Yeah, I got some old thing I dug out of the trash, still running XP, it replaced my old Win 98 rig- I quit trying to keep up back when memory resident programs were a big deal, and I had a 286 running DOS 4.x, on 640K, and a 10MB HD - and that was like a $1500 computer back then.

I'll probably have to upgrade eventually - the new Starcraft won't even load on this computer, and I'm going to want AutoCad and Studiomax eventually, which will need more under the hood than I got now.

Might even go all out on it, but I know whatever I do, it'll be outdated in a month or Two, and the more memory they put in 'em, the more crap they think of to eat it up. Right now about all I do is message boards and e-mail, so what I got works fine, and runs AOM, although I had to get a graphics card to do that.

The coolest gadget I've seen was a motion controlled mouse, like a combination remote/mouse, but it was at that Electronics store that went under during the mortgage meltdown, and I can't remember who made it.

That way I could install a monitor on my ceiling over the bed, lol.
