While the paint is drying on my current project and i wait out the fuzzy-brain duration of my pain-meds, i thought it might be interesting to learn the thoughts of other regarding costumes. Part 1, Costumes are meant to disguise the wearer's true identidy. However, it often seems ( but not always ) that events where costumes are to be worn, seem to provide persons with the opertunity to share an inner quality they might otherwise aim to keep hidden. " I put on this costume to show the real me . " It seems a little backwards to me that we hide that which we are, and only expose it when we are meant to appear as something we are not. Examples, Dressing as a comic hero that one admires when attending a Sci-Fi' Convention. How one dresses to a Renn' Faire, be they noble or crafty peasant ? Or Spock ? Halloween . Need i say more ? The mousy little reseptionist become the trashiest 'hooker' for one night of the year ... Part 2, Yes, it's Summer now, but Fall will get here soon. Okay, i'm just really looking forward to Fall. Now is a great time to start think of what to wearing this year for Halloween. Does anyone know what they'll be wearing this year ?
