The title reads
Michigan murder trial reveals sex torture chamber at house
These men had set up a torture and castration ring (some pervs are into playing both roles, and there was a dominatrix in the Vancouver area who was doing it for money.) and and the police discovered one of the 'victims' was murdered, and possibly raped though considering the circumstances, who can say.

""There were photos of a guy coming from out of state to do the castrations on various people." Kaluzny said."

This is the sort of thing that can get a bunch of people leaned on in the BDSM world, from the practitioners, to the equipment suppliers, to our media.

I don't think I'll ever become immune to the sickness that is the human race.

How do you figure that? This is a case where people were causing permanent damage, something the majority of BDSM practioners do not engage in.

You are relatively new, but there have been a select few posts from men wanting a woman to actually castrate them, and they were told it was a bad idea, and I doubt that they found anyone voluteering to do such a thing on this site.

The fact that you put quotation marks around the word victim makes me wonder if you think this guy consented to being killed or that no one should face prosecution because the guy must have consented to something.

That is why people don't engage in activities that will cause permanent damage like castration. There is no such thing as consenting to someone to cut your dick off, excluding when done in a medical setting. And there certainly is no consenting to being murdered.

I feel like a grizzled old-timer to say this, but people have been panicked over "oh no, LatestNewsStoryX is going to turn the public againt us" ever since the days of mapplethorpe. Every other month or so I see someone give dire warning that the public, due to the outrage cause by some news story, is seconds away from garbing their pitchforks and torches and kicking in our bedroom doors.

It never comes to pass.

Heck, the Anthony Sowell case was less than two year ago. When it happened, I remember everyone collectively shitting their pants over the expected consequences. There were warnings that politicians would use this as an excuse to pass new draconian laws. There were warnings that fundamentalist bible thumpers would be continuously warning against BDSM. There were warnings that the 'porn squad' would start closing bdsm websites (including this one). But as of today, not only as their not been a tide of public outrage directed against us, most people even within the BDSM scene itself cant even remember it.

I remember the hysteria over the CJIB saying that collarme would be closed down by the government within weeks. I remember people claiming the Armin Meiwes trial was only a stepping stone and that milions more BDSM practitioners would now have presitent for being tossed in jail. I remember the panic people had when John Edward Robinson was arrested, and people know KNEW that the floodgates were open to a new life of oppression toward BDSM. But the predictions never came true.

The closest I ever witnessed to any form of outrage against BDSM was after the death of David Carradine. And even then the ~outrage~ from the public came in the form of "Oh well, I guess some folks are into that sort of stuff. I wonder if Dancing With the starts is on? Let me change the channel."

So you will forgive me if Im a bit skeptical about this latest news story being the spark that will start the fire that will burn down all BDSM as we know it.
