I received this wonderful CMail today. It is such a fine example of what many folks of any stripe like to find in their in-box.
1. He greets me.
2. He acknowledges that we live in different geographical zones but that he visits my state every other week.
3. He comments on my pictures and his perceptions of them without inappropriate lewdness, inquiring about some of the areas they were taken.
4. He lets me know about who he is without polluting the description with a kinky laundry list.
5. He sent an appropriate, nicely dressed G-rated picture. He happens to be as cute as a speckled pup, but that was just a nice surprise
6. Most important, I feel as if I've been approached as a person, not a McDomme. Though he doesn't fit within the particular parameters I prefer, he quite effortlessly made me want to explore expanding those parameters...just for him.

This is a great example of the way a first letter should look. If I were you I would keep it for the next time someone asks the age old question of how to first speak to a domme via email. I have a had a few letters that look a bit like this one...they keep me from avoiding my email alltogether. It is nice to see that others do get them from time to time aswell. I have to add though that I hate the little i big You thing. D/s text speak makes me all but nutty hahaha. I got one awhile back that was so very well written that it made me almost upset that I hate the idea of a "slave"

If I used this as a standard I never would have met Shorey.
In fact, this type of letter would have immediately been discarded.
To me, It's generic and trying much to hard to be nice and neutral.
I can't tell a single thing about his personality.
Shorey's personality was so upfront immediately with is first email to me.
That was always my filter.

Maybe, he's just a nice and neutral guy.

I know I won't write the same message. I have a much more direct and assertive style.

However, I do think there is an underlying point here which is that, no matter what your style, if you approach someone with a genuine interest in who they are, you will most likely get a response if they dance to your kind of tune.

Of course, if your a white male submissive, who enjoys long evenings practicing noose tying by a burning cross, contacting an African American female dominant who references "white inferiors" at least 5 times in her profile...well...genuine interest probably isn't going to cut it.

But, for everyone else, I think it works more than it doesn't.

So far, I have yet to NOT get a response from a submissive I have contacted directly, because when I do contact a girl, it is because I saw something special or interesting in her profile that set me on the hunt and I contacted with genuine interest in who she was.

And this is why I giggle every time I read a thread about "OMG! I can't find a submissive! HELP ME!". Well, dude, just know what you want, know what your doing, and talk about something else besides how great her mouth will feel around your cock.
