We deal with it with common sense. Don't play for hours on end without eating something healthy. Have glucose tablets around just in case.

Are you worried about passing out or what?

We do what needs to be done to keep him as healthy as possible.  He takes his pills.  We both watch his diet.  He checks his blood sugar regularly.  It's not difficult and after a couple years it's all so automatic that we don't even think about it anymore.

I don't personally see how my diabetes is in any way related to my being a Dom. The one has nothing to do with the other. Neither impacts the other in any way.

OP, if you're hinting coyly about ED, don't. Ask straight out. Because yes, many of us will have suggestions.

It has caused ED but it is not a problem, I take the nice blue tabs and im off ,not only that I have one hand so I use my stump to fill up. I was wondering what the effects it might of had in others that's all .

It doesn't prevent anyone from having a relationship. It does mean you need to pay attention to what you eat and when. So we play for shorter amounts of time, and stop for water and a healthy snack if needed. I'm not sure if you're top or bottom, if bottom then I might suggest not doing severe bastinado and rethinking tying of fingers and toes for any length of time, plus being careful to pay attention to wounds as they won't necessarily heal quickly.

Type 2 is stunningly reversible.  This fact has been widely documented.

A)  Exercise.  Particularly metabolic resistance training and high intensity intervals.  Consult a professional on the intervals, they need to be done right.
B)  Fresh fruit & vegetables
C)  Eliminate bread, added sugar and anything containing hi-fructose corn syrup from your diet.

From what I've read, most type IIs will eventually need to move up to insulin. Hasn't happened yet to either him nor my brother, but once the damage to the liver is done, it doesn't regenerate. Nor eye damage. If you haven't had a thorough examination by an ophthalmologist, go do so.

That's weird.  First off, diabetes is a disease of the pancreas.  Secondly, the liver regenerates like crazy.

Most type II diabetics are actually highly insulin-resistant.  This means that their pancreas has to output a massively higher dosage of insulin in order to assert normal function.  Insulin resistance can be changed with diet and exercise.  And type two diabetes has been shown to reverse instantaneously with a particular type of stomach bypass surgery.

Big time agree on that and seen those reversals up close and personal in a family environment.
Not to sound completely rude but if you're over weight, loose it and that is the beginning of a better life.

Not sure that the above is totally accurate, as far as the insulin goes. I'm a nurse and Type II is insulin resistant diabetes mellitus, the pancreas is producing enough insulin but the cells are not accepting it and so there is more circulating in the bloodstream. Think of square pegs fitting into round holes.

You were DEAD on with any kind of foot torture, but that would be more geared toward diabetic slaves/subs. Unfortunately I have witnessed the absolute worst things that diabetes can do in respect to feet, and one doesn't soon forget the smell of gangrene or the sound of someone screaming in pain when being treated for this.

That all being said, as a dominant you could make part of your girl's daily rituals care of your feet (I do this for my Master, he teases me about my preoccupation with his feet)) You could have your girl wash your feet (being careful not to leave any soap, water or lotions in between toes), have her check your feet for feeling (a diabetic may ultimately lose feeling in them and not even know it), Have her check your feet for any wounds that you may not feel. She could also check your pedal pulses to make sure that they are beating at a healthy pace. (look around online to find the anatomy to find this spot) NEVER allow her to cut your toenails, as this should be done by a podiatrist or someone qualified to do diabetic foot care.

As was mentioned above, always make sure that you've eaten properly before, and have snacks available for during play as well as life in general.

There are many aspects of your illness that your girl can learn about and help you with. Diet, exercise and making or reminding you to make appointments for opthamologists, endocrinologists, A1C blood work, podiatrists and the like. She can track  when it's time for you to purchase new shoes (as this is very important).

Hope some or any of this was helpful

~freedom

I'm Type 1, so I'm not all that up to date on Type 2, but my understanding is that this is the case most of the time.
