zephyroftheNorth -> Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 7:17:36 AM)

I'm sending out a call for those who believe to say a prayer for those who have been affected by the attacks in Norway, both victims and their families.

The idea is sort of an online prayer circle for those who have the faith. Yes I realize that this is not for everyone here. I ask that those who don't have the faith quietly move on.

Edited to say: those who don't have the faith are more than welcome to leave good thoughts here as well.

thanks,

Zeph

I offer my prayers to those in Norway who have lost their lives, their loved ones,
or been injured in the attacks in Oslo and Utoeya.

I also pray that this event is not used as leverage by tyrants to further erode our freedom.

Hail to The Red Thor
The Mighty Enemy of Hvitakrist

nephandi -> RE: Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 7:29:16 AM)

I pray to the Gods to send protection, comfort and hope to the families of the victims of yesterday's terrorist attacks. I ask that They bless those that are no longer with us, and ask that whatever religion they followed, whatever Gods they worshiped that their Gods greet them and give their souls comfort. I ask the Gods to bless the victims of these attacks, to lighten their hearts and lead them through their sorrow so that new hope might eventually bloom. I ask the Gods to bless all of Norway and the rest of the world and I ask that something like this never happen again. No God can wipe away the tears that flow just to many in Norway today, but I ask of the Bright Ones to give us all hope and the courage to remember that beyond the black night is a new tomorrow. Please Gods bless the victims of yesterday's terror attacks, bless their family and friends, and bless us all. May this black day never come again.

NM, I misunderstood.

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 7:32:09 AM)

Thanks to those who have offered prayers. I've asked my sister to do the same with her friends who have the faith.

Please Lord, send comfort and strength to those in Norway who need it, victims and families alike. Help them get through this stronger than ever.

Zeph

Louve00 -> RE: Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 7:39:49 AM)

Amen, Zeph!  I am praying for the Norwegians and hoping their God (as Nephandi said, whatever their beliefs) give them the strength, hope and sustenance to endure in this tragic time.

Our thoughts are with you all.

We grieve and feel your pain and wish you all will find some peace, in time.

One brave man here.

Tantriqu -> RE: Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 7:46:32 AM)

I have no faith except in humans, so I send my support to the nation of Norway, to the friends and families of the slain and injured, and to the rescue workers, doctors, engineers, police and volunteers who have seen things no human should.

I curse those who saw sick behaviour in the perpetrator, and didn't take action.

But I have faith in the Norwegian legal system that justice will prevail, and in Norwegians, the same nation that arose out of the devastation of WWII to rebuild a better land.

Herr1 -> RE: Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 7:49:05 AM)

Just want to say thank y/You all for the support and prayers! It's an unbelievable mood here right now. Herr1

My heart goes out to the victims and their families....my faith is shaky,but my prayers are offered .

ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 7:53:25 AM)

Prayer always has, and always will be the best way to do absolutely nothing while pretending to do something.
The dead don't need anything other than a hole in the ground.
The living need answers.
Prayers offer neither.

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 7:53:53 AM)

That's okay Tantriqu all good thoughts are welcome.

To all, this is great, keep em coming!

Zeph

I must have missed those words.

Bottom line: Life's a bitch, then you die. That's it - nothing more.

This was a cowardice act by a madman. God didn't prevent it nor did god make it happen. If the world could realize that, most of our problems would be solved right there.

But no, you continue this psychophant process of praying to god. For what? Where was god when this guy was building the bombs and loading his guns? Where was god when the bomb detonated and the bullets flew? Or is this all part of god's plan? The taking of innocent life, unfathomable suffering.

Attrocities like this anger me. It is profoundly frustrating that there is absolutely nothing we can do to prevent such acts. So pray all you want, just don't pretend soe a second it has even the slightest effect on the situation.

VideoAdminTheta -> RE: Prayers For Norwegians (7/23/2011 8:18:57 AM)

I don't pray, but my thoughts are with those that are suffering.

To those that wish to make a debate out of this, whatever you might feel about prayer or anything else: Please note that this will not become a debate thread or train wreck, not by moderation but by will of those wishing to do something with their faith. Please ignore and move on, do not engage.

May all be blessed in whatever manner they believe a blessing is or comes from.

I'm not religious so offering a prayer would be hypocritical, but I certainly wish that the individuals, their families and the whole country are recovering from this tragedy as soon as possible.

For those who feel they need to mock prayers - for me they are like good thoughts - you have to be damned messed up in the head to find fault with that concept. Even as an agnostic I never felt offended when somebody said they will include me in their prayers, something nice is always welcome, even if I might not share their faith in a deity!

I don't call it prayer, but I'm sending what I have.  For those who insist on more tangible support, you've got me in agreement with O59, at least for a second or two.
