The last post got me thinking.  =)

If you have had your labia pierced, how long did they take to heal?

I haven't pierced my labia, but I do have my clitoral hood and nipples pierced. I know that nipples take 6-8 months to fully heal. I had my hood piercing done about 5 years ago. I think that was fully healed in about 3 months.  For the first 2 weeks, you basically have to abstain from sexual activities. It's advised that no one elses bodily fluids get on your piercing.  While it may appear on the outside that your piercing is fully healed, it's not. Piercings heal from the outside in, so you have to be very gentle with your piercing during the healing period.

As for the pain factor, I didn't really have that much pain at all, but everyone is different.  Your piercer will go through deep breathing exercises with you.  I found that it's best to start the breathing exercises even while you're waiting to be pierced. It calms you and gets your heart rate to slow down. Also, make sure you eat prior to getting your piercing. Your blood pressure can drop and you can pass out. Not a good thing for you or the piercer. (speaking from personal experience on that one...sorry Lumpy)

Check out www.safepiercing.org. That's the site for the Association of Professional Piercers and there is a ton of info there.  Best of luck to you.

hi Badkitty  =)

my nipples are still healing- it's been a little over 2 months.  Labia are next.  Master will be doing it Himself, as He did the nipples.  The breathing sounds like a good idea.  So, no vaginal sex for a while- what about wearing panties?  Or sitting down?  i've found hygiene tips online, but was hoping to hear more about actual experiences.  Anyone?  =)

Uhm, this would be a good place to ask if your Master is actually professionally trained in piercing but I've come to understand that around here, training isn't really an issue. So, Imma wish you the best of luck, hope your bits don't fall off. :)

I have labia rings ...they heal quick and are fun . just avoid sex and cycling for a week.
Mine are smallish but can still have jewels hung off them ...ohh a good piece of info; a length of fishing line can be put in to keep the holes open if you are going for something like a MMR or are preggies :)
And were mostly painless in the actual piercing bit

I have an outer labia piercing (one on each side) and it took probably a month or so for the outer skin to heal and I'd say for a *full* healing (where we could hang locks and such) closer to three or so months.  I would strongly reccomend an outer labia piercing over an inner labia - they are more durable and look prettier.  The ripping issue isn't remotely an issue with my outer labia piercings at all.  I've had them for a few years now and my owner and I have sex all the time and do all sorts of things with the outer labia piercings and its never been an issue.

I've had labia piercings in the past. They healed quickly but did occassionaly give me trouble when cycling. What I ended up doing was changing the jewlrey to curved barbells so that I didn't have the constant friction on the bike seat. Tight fitting clothes worked better for exercise, to stop the friction.

A caution to having a non-professional pierce you, make sure they get their landmarks correct. My former master did one set of my piercings and the jewlrey migrated out because they were not set in correctly. The set done professionally lasted until I took the jewlrey out.

Piercings heal (in a healthy person w/ good hygiene) in direct proportion to the thickness of the part pierced AND in direct proportion to the healing speed of that particular body part.

That is ... face & hands heal faster than your butt or belly.
The clit hood & labiae minorae & clitoral or penile frenulum probably heal the fastest ... about 1 week ... maybe 10 days at outside.  By then you oughtta be able to hitch up & help pull the pickup outta the mud.  Any longer and you have a problem.

Remember, if thinking of labial piercings, to carefully consider placement ... i.e.  if you like missionary most ... then putting them in back will get them out of the way.  If you like doggy ... then putting them high will get them out of the way.  For truck towing, I recommend, placing them low :-)

Lips & tongue probably heal 2nd fastest because those tissues repair themselves very rapidly.

Nipples of average thickness will heal normally in 4-6 weeks BUT they often have complications ... such as poor hygiene, recurrent infections, incompetant care which causes the healing epithelial tube to be pulled out or lose it's blood supply.  The 4-6 weeks applies to basic, initial formation of an epithelial tube thru the whole piercing.  It can take another 6 or more months for that to toughen up, fix it self, establish redundant blood supply ... and become resistant to damage.
I dislike nipple piercings cuz it takes my play toys away for so many months.  And if she just gets 1 pierced at a time, then she's 1/2 out of commission twice as long.

Labiae majorae heal according to thickness ... often taking 4-6 weeks as well.  I never did see the purpose in piercing them.

Correct ... piercings in the perineum (Guiche & Forchette) & umbilicus (or any flat surface) heal slowly and get damaged easily.

Any other questions?  I'm sure, if you searched, you could find a piercing FAQ w/ average healing times for all piercings.  I'm just approximating from my experience.

Thank you DomDoc-

Yes, there are lots of piercing sites online, but i thought i'd ask the girls here- after all, the piercing sites don't always give such FAQs the personal touch... For example, if someone has had an electrical toy touched to a damp labial piercing and turned into KentuckyFriedSlave, i'd kinda like to know it's something to avoid.  =P  Y'know?
