If you want to keep your info private here, beware. Yesterday, both my friend and I were followed by CollarMe on our Twitter accounts. The accounts are mainstream and we use them for business. We use different email addresses for CollarMe and for our Twitter accounts. The only way they could have found us is via CM tracking our IP addresses.

I have already gotten in touch with CM mgmt. I have three emails from them and can share with you one-on-one if you have doubts.

If you don't care, please move on to the next post, but if you have a vanilla life, wife, gf, bf, etc., this intrusive tactic by CM could ruin you and your reputation.

Where are the lawyers?

I'm sure they'll take care of it. Cm isn't immune to hacking and malicious tracking so don't jump to blame them right off. They are responsible to a degree and can only offer as much help as they can.

OK, I don't know if CM twitters and I keep my twitter just for vanilla business, but even with the tracking of your IP addresses, it would be impossible to find you on Twitter as Twitter doesn't share your IP

sorry butter buns, but ip addresses just don't fucking work that way. there is no way for cm to "track your ip" on another site.

odds are the collarme follower is either not collarme, or an automated crawler setup where it follows any fucking tweets that mention certain key words or phrases.

This is info on CM and twitter: you have to join the particular tweet feed to get there.

My guess is you may have come across some Malware that someone imbedded into their profile...that has become an issue very recently.

With all free access points and various IP adresses, I think it is a little impossible to find anyone by IP on Twitter...

UNLESS... you've been searching for it, or visited the twitteraccount of CM.
I know what's possible in the world of IT, been there, done that and got the tshirt...

I invite OP here and now to try to find me on Twitter... I do have an account and will post a tweet directly after this mssg on twitter......... If you know so much.... you'd be able to find me. I dare you!!

You seem unable to mentally process reasoned reponses, let me reiterate mine for you:

Clearly in that info it explains that CM tweets.
(Helpful tip # 12 it really does help if one reads the links that people post. Helpful hint #15 Ranting after not reading links {see Helpful tip #12}tends to make the ranting poster look like a ranting idiot.)
Now I am not sure if you already had a twitter acount and tried to access the tweet page from the same window what would happen, but that would be your cookie settings.
CM did not steal your information.

if this has happened just block them and report them for spam

but i get loads more spam tweets

i just have to mention a phrase and i get bots messaging me

cyber is full goodies and badies but most baddies are toothless

and while yes lots black hat peeps and companies the Google Panda update has made most the toothless

grannie mcrae's meaty spaghetti sauce

1 kg ground beef
6 mild ital sausages
1 x 680ml tomato sauce
2 x 796ml diced tomato

for at least 4 hours.

Can you explain why you would follow me on Twitter? That is an account I use for business. You are obviously tracking IP addresses because nothing here would connect with that Twitter account. I am not sure why you think that having someone follow you on twitter broadcasts what you are doing on this site: there is no connection between the 2. If you see we have recently followed you it is because you came up in one of the following searches we did on twitter: Collarme, BDSM, Tech, San Jose, or Fetish or because you were connected to someone who came up in those searches and twitter recommended you.

Twitter is a public site and they do have the option for you to protect your tweets and restrict them to only those you deem worthy of viewing them. If you do not deem us worthy simply restrict them. Please keep in mind that you are fraudulently reporting us for infractions we did not commit.We have in no way contacted you on that site, retweeted anything you said, or singled you out in any way, and it was you who initiated the contact on this site.

I am a marketing and PR professional with 25 years of experience. Most people follow me that way. We do social media marketing for businesses for a living.

Also, don't you think people associate you with the people you follow and vice versa? If one is following McDonald's, it's likely they like hamburgers, right?

So what you are saying is you randomly added people you thought would be good for yoru site. That is a form of spamming.

I am taking your responses to my complaint and passing them on directly to Twitter's Legal Department. Think twice about how you use social media when you are an adult company. You clearly are a junior employee or you would understand why it's so different from mainstream.

You do understand that the way twitter works is that anyone who is interested in what you are saying can follow you, right? Unless of course, you restrict your tweets. We did nothing more than use the site as it is meant to be used. If you take a look at who we follow, you will see other marketing professionals on the list. They do have fetish interests listed in their profiles: perhaps you are connected to one of them, or came up in the twitter recommendation because of the marketing connection.
I think that anyone who uses twitter and has even an iota of common sense realizes that unless you restrict your tweets you do not control who follows you, so unless you are following us back I fail to see how you think this would impact your reputation in any way.
Random implies that we just click the follow button for each user we see and that we are not using any sort of selection criteria: I assure you this is not the case, and since you are in the business of social media marketing I am sure you realize that accusing someone who is following less than 150 people on an account that is over 6 months old of these random / spamming additions borders on ridiculous. Yes, we follow people who we think might have something interesting to say. Do you think that an interest in marketing and PR is restricted only to those who do things rated G?
We have offered repeatedly to unfollow you. We have been nothing but respectful of you and your privacy, and have tried to meet you more than halfway.You are choosing to continue down this fraudulent and libelous path by knowingly making false claims against us.
We are more than happy to respond to Twitters legal department with copies of these same communications should you choose to continue your harassment.
