Child support is a child's right and unless a woman is independently wealthy, should be pursued, IMHO.

Does one need a lawyer? Can't she just put Daddy on the birth certificate and file a claim?

Are you serious? You have control of your body. If you were dumb enough to get pregnant, by a married man who was fucking around on his wife, well, deal with it.

Yes.  Sometimes, if you get your edit done in under a minute, it won't show that the post was edited.  Since all that happened here was cutting out the entire phrase and typing in "ok" it was finished before the timer ran out.

I've seen it happen on My own posts a few times when I caught a mistake fast enough.

Hmmm.  As much as do I come to like certain regular posters on here and even may "stalk" them to see what witty post they have posted, this thread.....or rather the OP, is why I find it so damn hard to get involved with online drama and tragedy.

Your first step should be STD testing for yourself! If He cheated with you He probably cheated on you as well my dear. And if He didn't push using condoms with you He didn't push them with anyone and the baby could end up sick from many STDs. So for once put yourself first!

While you're doing that think about where you are in life. Can you support a baby? Can you pay the hospital for your delivery etc? Can you pay for all the prenatal visits and baby wellness Dr visits, vaccinations, formula, diapers? Does He have a good enough job to pay enough to make up the difference? Will you look at this child and blame him/her for what the father did?

After you think through all of that find a lawyer. He or she can help you with a paternity test and child support OR help you find a loving couple who will take your child into their family and see it as the miracle it is. You can even find a family willing to have an open adoption with pics and updates so you know how the child is doing.

Telling the wife will do nothing but cause you pain, don't do it! i wish you the best my dear, good luck!
