timeoutgurlie -> Real LOCKING Collar? (5/18/2006 7:44:55 PM)

W/we've seen plenty of collars that have rings where a lock can be placed, but not seen any yet that were truly made to be LOCKED with a lock...if this makes sense [&:] W/we hope it does [&:]

Anyone here know of any sites to look at?  Seen many, but all of the collars using locks to close them were, suppose "discreet", looking like a pretty regular silver necklace...which defeats O/our purpose.  W/we want a collar that looks like a collar [:D]

Any help would be really appreciated [:D][:D]

Sir/gurlie

Hi,
There is a place near where I live that sells locking collars. This is where I bought mine as well as leather wrist and ankle cuffs. See my profile picture, it shows me wearing them.  http://www.noirleather.com/store/index.php/cPath/90/sort/3a/page/1

Thanks for the link Nikki, and the pic of you with the "not your average girl" shirt was precious [:D]

SM-Factory makes some incredibly beautiful locking collars and other metal items.  There will be no mistaking that you're wearing a collar with one of these.

What W/we're looking for would be a collar that's most likely leather, and has a ring of some kind on each end, then they'd meet at the front of the neck and have a lock (not sure what the lock type is called, the kind that's like a metal box with a half ring/hoop at the top that snaps shut) that would be put through both rings and that lock would keep the collar on.

As yet, only seen a few like this, but all were interlocking, like clicking one end into the other.  Same function and all, but not the same visual, and without the actual feeling of Him putting the collar on me and locking it on there knowing He has the only key.

Wishing now I could draw what I'd like and post it, then see if it actually exists lol

Thanks again for your help & the link [:D]

Thanks a lot [:D]

W/we would love it to look like the one you posted, but with the lock of this one: http://www.sm-factory.de/en/shop/110/110-060.htm (sorry if the link won't be clickable, I'm not that advanced [&o])

The collars are beautiful, I just skimmed them all, the one you posted would be perfect if it had the other kind of lock...W/we might be too picky hmm [&:]

After looking more closely on one of the other views of it...it looks like it uses the lock W/we're after, it's just hiding the looping/ring part [:-] you may have found what W/we were after, many thanks to you [:D][:D]

timeoutgurlie -> RE: Real LOCKING Collar? (5/18/2006 8:27:01 PM)

Thanks again stef, those were pretty as well, but a bit too pretty...again, the picky thing lol

He's asleep and hasn't seen the first one you posted, but based on what He's shown me before or been drawn to when we've been shopping and I spot Him fondling collars (lol) I think He'll really love that one as well.

It's definitely closest to what W/we've described to each other and pointed out in other collars where it'd be nice to meld them together...that one looks like it has it all; great looking collar & the lock to boot [:D]

I've looked at it about 12 times since you posted it, it's definitely grown on me very quickly lol [:D][:D]

I am very pleased with www.eternitycollars.com  Awesome customer service, very speedy.  The collar "locks" with an allen wrench, which makes it not exactly inescapable (you can go to Home Depot and get another key any time), but that has its own advantages.  Very lovely and durable item also, one you can truly wear 24/7, in the shower, etc.

JustaDom -> RE: Real LOCKING Collar? (5/19/2006 4:42:43 AM)

First, congratulations on your collaring. I understand you may already have found what you are looking for but as a leather craftsman I thought of a few things you may want to consider as I read through the posts.

Generally there are three choices in materials: leather, rubber and metal. The best metal collars are made of materials that do not rust and can be worn even in the shower, bath or while swimming. You're looking for an obvious collar and there are certainly models that are very obvious. The disadvantages are that they tend to be more expensive and some people have skin allergies to the various alloys. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to make sure you can return it if skin reactions are a concern.  Aluminum is light and doesn't rust, stainless steel is heavy and strong and some really expensive collars come in titanium or titanium alloys.  The well made ones are very nice, enough to make me want to get into metalworking myself.

Rubber collars are interesting, they avoid some of the disadvantages of metal collars and leather and obviously ideal for those with a rubber fetish.  Unlike leather, they are fine in water and shine up really well with armor all.

Leather collars are "traditional" if there is such a thing and are my material of choice. Leather collars have the widest variety and are the easiest to find someone to custom make what you want or in an uncommon size. You should be a savvy shopper though when it comes to leather, a lot of what is commonly out there and that the vanilla public comes across isn't going to hold up to daily use.  The best material in wide use is latigo which is strong, thick and ideal for prolonged contact against the skin. I would suggest asking before you buy if the rivets and other materials are made of brass. Nickel platted brass is as bright and shiny as steel but doesn't become corroded like the cheap nickel plated steel some people use.  Leather should have more care than metal or rubber but it has a wonderful feel and texture that you just can't get from strictly man made materials.

If I'm visualizing your description properly, I don't recall coming across something that matches it precisely. It seems like you want the two ends to meet in the center of the throat and then connected by a lock – I have seen some chain maile collars made that will achieve that effect and be pretty obvious.

I've sent you a sketch of what I think you described via email and if that's what you're looking for that would be a very simple design and easy to make, I or someone else would just need some neck measurements, the thickness and width you wanted and if you wanted any other custom touches or lining, rivets, extra D-rings and a strap.

Again, congratulations and please accept my my best wishes to you and yours.

Joe

Looks like we can all get something we'd love from the links that are coming, that's always a plus [:D]

Thanks a lot Naja & Justa, the eternitycollars link came up witht he old "cannot find server" on multiple tries, but I'll try again later.  When I'd Google dreamstrike in the past it refused to work, but id when stef linked it, so it seems these sites get fickle [&:]  The sketch you mailed looks perfect Justa, I'm thinking we'll be in touch, also thanks for the congratsies [:D][:D]

Abstently Sir & mostly just gurlie for the moment lol [:D][:D]

Tal and Hello

I make leather collars with either a post type or buckle that can be fitted with a lock.  I also include the lock.

I wish you well

Now it worked, thanks Najak, those are pretty [:D] I'll have to have a thorough look through everything, so far I like what I see [:D][:D]

Nos - Do you have a site or anything where I could see some of what you've done, or even anyone on CM who has pics of themselves wearing your work?  Thanks [:D]
