Wondering what you think of live steaming of a funeral online.   Seems --barbaric to me.

maybe if the family were living opposite ends of world and found getting there difficult

i for one wouldnt want my family spending 2 grand to come to my funeral

I agree with David. There are already on-line memorials put up by funeral homes, why not stream for folks that can't physically be there?

I wouldn't have a problem with it.

I don't see it as any different than live streaming a wedding or a birthday or any other social function for people who can't make it due to distance, illness, etc....

Then again I love technology and the fact that we can do this these days.

I think for funerals it may make it easier for some people to grieve and having been there done that, I'm all for any process that may make it easier to get through this horrific process.

Wouldn't that be like putting funerals on TV for famous people only on a more average person level?   I see nothing wrong with it if the family is okay with it as it would allow more family and friends reach a concept of closure to say good bye to someone when expense or time constraints may not allow them to attend personally.

I can see how it would seem a little uncomfortable, but i also can see how it really would not be much different than watching a famous person's funeral on TV.    I would think however, most of an average person's funeral would only be followed by those who have a personal interest, with some of couse non-personal interest because that's just how some people are.

You can't make the funeral but friends and family are there paying respects to a lost loved one.

What's the big fucking deal if I would like to participate even if from afar?

We got hit with a foot of snow when my uncle's funeral was held. No way could I get out of here and down there. Sending flowers isn't the same.
