the only person we can control is ourselves

i used to get so stressed about how people treated me

ive been sent to coventry when i worked

had people launch misconduct issues against me you name it

but what really worked is learning to control how i reacted

its the same with illness or disfigurement

i have a friend who was on same ship in falklands war as simon western

he lost both hands and had both legs amputated he also had over 80% face burnt but is the most upbeat person I know

I know a 25 yr old woman who has such bad epileptic fits they land her in hospital yet shes upbeat

i also knew someone who self harmed himself to death

you control your own positive/negatived meter

Great post David. I bit of wisdom we should all try to remember. Also, each of us are responsible for the happiness of only ourselves. I can not make somebody else happy, and nobody can make me happy. But having somebody who loves me, cares for me and respects me can go a long way in making me happier than I am currently, so long as I return those feelings.
