I don't know...I still have trouble believing it. There's got to be more to the story to warrant that type of action. And I'm a freaky, organic and whole foods type, keep-trying-to-be-vegan. I'm all for what they're doing. But it rings to me of a group jumping on a story that they can slant to publicize for their own agenda.

Maybe I'm wrong. But I have trouble believing the media, any media. Someone is exaggerating for their cause. Or omitting. The media is always, always biased.

its not cuz of the raw milk, its because of the herdshare agreement, the govt is saying that agreement makes it an unlicensed dairy... gee, and that would be a felony.

Yeah, I read that. Which doesn't seem raid-worthy.

So...I still feel like we must not have all the information.

I would be curious to know if there was a history of correspondence alerting them to the fact that if they don't do A. B. and C., then more extreme action would occur. And if that was the case, they why didn't they do A. B. and C., and then fight their fight legally?

Same argument as in another thread. There are legal ways to make a stand, and illegal ways. There is a need for both. There is always the need for the extremist. I'm not that person, though...I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't just make their case in a way that doesn't result in being raided. If their case is "We shouldn't have to have a permit because we're a group of owners picking up our stuff at a distribution point", have they filed their appeals and whatnot, or have they just ignored whatever laws are being claimed to apply to them?

I'm not saying this is what happened. Of course, I don't know. But these are my questions. Perhaps they did truly get fucked. But I don't feel I have enough information at the moment to say I believe that.

I don't see what's so bad about the press release. According to what I've been able to find out tonight, one article (http://www.infowars.com/why-rawesome-foods-does-not-need-a-license-a-civil-rights-issue/) claims that they are owners of their animals and milk - that they own their products together as a group and are only picking them up at a certain point. This press release states that purchases and one-day memberships occurred. Obviously, those people aren't the owners.

Perhaps the article is wrong in their interpretation of what's going on, but the press release definitely alludes to the purchase and one-day membership being the problem. So, for whatever reason, perhaps it was, in fact, illegal.

Still, raid-worthy? I don't know. But I can't say I feel like they're being prosecuted because big government hates them.

There have been other raids on other farmers for various reasons across the US by the FDA, there was a link to some on that one link you posted.

My take is that the govt says they need a license and that they need a vet to inspect the animals at various times i guess and other hoops they must jump threw. Part of it could be that doing everything the govt is claiming they are supposed to do might be just too cost prohibitive and no one would buy the milk if they had to charge too much more, but I dont really know at this point. It could be that they didnt do that for other reasons too. Hard to say.

How about a little perspective. If you were a dairy farmer would you like it if guns were pointed at you as if you were some dangerous criminal?

Their "right" for safety doesn't trump my right to be treated according to the crime. They are organic farmers FFS.

This is how the Feds conduct themselves on a regular basis. No matter if it's Tax evasion, Immanent Domain Seizures, Vitamins Store raids and various other "heinous crimes". Business as usual.

Right, that's what I meant. I'm not sure I'm convinced that their crime was worthy of being raided.

I do think that they must not be completely in the right, though, as well.

If I remember correctly the need for pasteurization came about because of deaths and illnesses caused by tainted milk but what they don't tell you is why the milk was tainted to begin with.

http://www.neatorama.com/2011/01/17/the-fight-for-safe-milk-swill-milk/

In today's time there is of course a need as always for sanitation but the milk itself isn't that dangerous. I believe they've had more deaths from tainted pasteurized per year than raw milk.

I'm still learning myself so still checking everything out but to me so far it seems it's a pretty standard line bullshit being regurgitated for the next herd's consumption.

You say it, but that's it. I have the plan, and it would be a big change for you, but this plan is THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS A CHANCE OF WORKING.

You wanna follow those people who have no better morals than anyone, and would fuck you over to get an oil change ? Or would you rather have the truth.

I ain't got all year MF, and I mean that VERY seriously. End of the year I would like to leave the US, forever.

Now what you got to say ? These decisions are based on logic.

You mean like how no one in the media wants to admit that "undocumented workers" are illegal immigrants and that illegal is still illegal? The way I see it, we have waaaaay too many laws on the books and it's only making America worse. For the record, I am against both parties because almost all politicians are in it to get rich and powerful. They don't give a damn about the American people, the ones whom they are always claiming to serve while raping them.

...the place is making too much money.  Do you think the big milk vendors want that?

...and the crap added to refined milk-  they have no clue what they are doing.  It could almost be considered a medication.

The more I see these stories the more I want to try the product.  My neighbor said- it is a different- and she doubts I would like it.  I bet milk shakes that way are great!
