Saying you are 99 keeps you from having to remember what lie you are telling that day.

I wouldn't tell you the town I live in either.......if I lived in town. We have towns that have only a few hundred people around here. However, most people here know I work in Iowa City. Not exactly a huge town, but you will likely not find me either.

People lie online because they can.....it really is as simple as that. All the rest is subject to their own interpretation. I've even had a few get upset at ME when I discovered their lies. They truely believe that EVERYONE lies on line. They treat CM like a meeting place for BDSM RPGs. They were shocked that I expected the truth and to actually meet, face to face.

Kids these days!

I REALLY wish CM would make that automatic.

saying you are 99 keeps you out of certain search parameters so you dont get tons of stupid emails to wade thru..

I still get the click-delete emails, in spite of being an oldster!

I say "Oakland County" as my location on the other side, it's a large area, and close enough for horseshoes as far as that goes. In a conversation, I will say more. I am really not concerned about being "found", but I don't think oversharing with strangers is a great thing.

I would agree with Lady Hib's statements.

Honestly, you are a man. So do not be afraid of meeting in a public place, without a picture.

I have done it once or twice myself ....

You need to understand Ladies from here get hounded and stalked. Men typically don't .. ROFL ... ... although we might WISH for it!

And BTW, when you explicitly ask for pictures, you are sending a message as being VERY shallow!

In my experience, when a Lady wants you to know what she looks like ... she will send it to you, without you asking.

Moreover, you usually get a picture from her, based on what you SHARE and discuss!

My own approach .. is READ what she writes! Writing is an art .. and it speaks volumes!

Except of course, after a case of beer, on a hot Saturday afternoon on the Lake!

But that last sentence is my thread! ROFL

I don't know why you assume that asking for a photo means that I didn't read what she wrote or have a discussion with her. (And by the way, I write for a living.) But if someone asks to meet me (as she did), I want to see a photo beforehand. You can call it shallow if you like, but there are very few people who don't care about a person's appearance at all. And in my experience that is the very few thing a lot of women will ask for from men. So if you think women don't care about what the men look like, you're deluding yourself.

I'm going to have to agree that I won't meet someone without a face shot, and I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for one if there isn't one on the profile after a reasonable amount of time.

Part of it is attraction. The other part (from this Domme's POV) is presentation. If someone sends me a picture of themselves looking like they just got in from fixing their pick up truck or drunk at a bar with a bunch of girls hanging off them or looking like they're living in Mom and Dad's basement, the I'm probably going to pass.

I didn't assume ... anything. I said YOU could be perceived as shallow.

Why do you HAVE to?

How do YOU know she is NOT a famous Covergirl, who really is trying to protect her identity?

I also said I have done it WITHOUT a photo. What makes you so unique? Why should SHE want to meet you?

Never said Women didn't care about YOUR looks ... actually for most it is important.

But it is not an equal world! Especially online. Deal with it.

I'd be pretty skeptical about a person who is on an on-line site, and yet they claim that they don't have a photo of themself.  Almost everybody has a digital camera on them at all times......It's called their cell phone.  Even if their phone doesn't have a camera, the guy standing next to them probably has one on his phone, so there is no excuse for not having a picture.

I do not have a current photo. I do not have a camera phone either. I do not take the digital camera with me often. There are some of us that just do not have a photo.

I refuse to update my age. Your profile goes on one of those lists like you are a new member.

You'd have to ask her. As I said in my earlier post, she did want to meet me.

I am sorry for you that you feel that way. I don't have trouble meeting women online or offline, so I don't feel desperate and believe a woman who talks to me online is doing me a grand favor. I have declined to meet many dommes who wanted to meet me because I didn't feel we were a good match. I don't subscribe to the notion that a submissive is weak or desperate or has to be grateful that a domme would show him the time of day. I am looking for someone who complements me, and who I complement in return, and my standards for what I look for in a domme are as high as the standards I would expect her to have.

Um, if you're are going to chide people for their reading comprehension, you should actually read their posts more closely. Like I said, she asked to meet me, which you didn't appear to get, even though I made it quite clear.

Just had one of "those" exchanges with an domme. She wanted to meet me after I sent her my info and photo, but she said she didn't have a photo herself and declared that my asking what part of Los Angeles she lived in and how old she was (her profile said 99) was "asking too much info."

It's strange the stuff people feel a need to conceal.

No, it's not.

It's smart.

You have an anonymous stranger on a website that you are going to reveal all your personal information to?

Good luck with that.

I dunno,.. I dont really put much stock in photos.. i find people tend to look a lot different in person anyway, especially from just 1 or 2 shots... some even look better in person so photos can be deceiving.. they could have been photoshopped, 10 years old or of someone else.

I had one guy tell me, when i questioned his photo when i met him.. he claimed he used his cousins photo cuz he had some interest in a public company and they look so much alike... ummmmm, no, they looked nothing alike!

Another guy i didnt recognize at all cuz his photo was probably 15 years old..

Another guy,.. well, one of his photos is off the internet and of someone else (but altered to hide that fact), hopefully the other pics are of of the real him..

.. human nature is amusing.. to me, anyway..

I so love the ironic in life!  Subbie boy comes confused and commenting on what people hide online and low and behold... we have... an incident... something he is hiding!

That higher level thinking really helps when you have something to hide. Oh well, just another whiny bitch with a two sided mirror. Watch out LA... another reason to lock your doors and not meet strangers off the net. A picture wouldn't help in this case now would it?
