While part of the world is in turmoil, i would like to take a moment and remember the 30 people, 22 of whom are Navy Seals who, if i understand correctly, have arrived home today.  Not running into the arms of their loved ones but in caskets covered by an American Flag - not tears of joy that they have come home, but tears of pain and grief as they have in fact -- come home.

Rest in peace and thank you..

"Thirty Americans — 22 of them SEALS — and eight Afghans were killed Saturday when a rocket-propelled grenade fired by a Taliban insurgent downed their Chinook helicopter en route to a combat mission. All but two of the SEALs were from SEAL Team 6, the unit that killed Osama bin Laden, although military officials said none of the crash victims was on that mission in Pakistan against the al-Qaida leader. ..."

It's shocking to think of everything that was lost on that mission. The men were invaluable, the training they had, the amount of knowledge and expertise...it's truly mind numbing. Of course it tears me apart the most to know of the families that are no long whole.
I'd like to hope that these men will rest in peace and I'd like to thank them and their families for their service.

Often are the Gods cruel, but we may take small solace that they knew love both given and received, and in death are beloved of many more. May My Goddess grant peace to the families of these men most cruelly taken from them. Reflect on their life as it was, and rejoice in the life they have begun.

Be not troubled overly, for we must die to be born, and we are born when we die. This is as it is, as it was first dreamed.

Be at peace
Aneka
