More pointless Obama bashing without any basis in the facts.

GE have stated they are moving top executives to China, to be closer to the fastest growing market. It seems to me if American executives are moving abroad, then they will STILL have jobs.

No doubt the usual suspects will explain why this isnt the case, and why Obama is to blame for the decisions of the GE directors.

ROFL. Yeah the top executives will still have jobs. The jobs created by the 2 billion invesment will all be for top execs.

Why is Obama to blame? You apparently havent read anything here or in the newspapers about his plans for spending, taxes, Obamacare, EPA regulations........need I name more?

From the WSJ article I alreadt linked to:

GE said it doesn't expect the move to result in any job losses in the U.S., where the unit has been based in Waukesha, Wis. The Wisconsin X-ray division has 120 employees.

So will GEs move to create jobs in China count towards Obamas jobs "created or saved" numbers?

Jeffrey Immelt, the head of Barack Obama's highly touted Jobs Council, is moving even more GE infrastructure to China.

flcouple2009 -> RE: GE moving to China (8/20/2011 10:36:50 AM)

So let me understand this from your point of view.

A handful of GE execs move to China.  They will be closer to where they are selling the products the workers in WI make.  This will allow them to sell even more product benefiting the workers in WI.

According to you that is a bad thing.

Louve00 -> RE: GE moving to China (8/20/2011 10:39:26 AM)

GE has been doing business with all parts of Europe, all parts of Asia.  All parts of the world for that matter.  They outsource their technical support to overseas (like India and the Philippines).  GE makes a whole lot more than X-ray equipment too.  In fact, that's only a fragment...a splinter....of GE.

Sanity -> RE: GE moving to China (8/20/2011 10:46:18 AM)

Oh well then, thats different.

That makes it okay for Obamas Jobs Czar to move jobs to China.. [8|]

As usual, you missed my point completely!!

GE has been in other countries and overseas.  GE has been there before Obama's administration and before Bush's too.  I would venture to say before a lot of president's regimes were in place, GE was in place in other countries.  You do realize that GE has had plants all over the world that make parts for the various equipment they make in the US, too...don't you?  (maybe not, since you think this is such a big deal)

Learn to fucking think instead of parroting what a corpoorate talking head says. Even if there are no losses of CURRENT jobs, who the fuck do you think is getting the NEW jobs from a $2 billion investment in China?

sos jobs going overseas is only an issue since obama became CIC
yeah, I thought so

Sanity -> RE: GE moving to China (8/20/2011 1:21:24 PM)

The issue is that Obamas jobs czar is sending jobs overseas

That you are so dense that you cant fathom such a simple concept isnt at all surprising

Lucylastic -> RE: GE moving to China (8/20/2011 1:26:53 PM)

HAHAHHA coming from you is hysterical
he is still the guy in charge he has been shifting jobs overseas, and has been since 2001,
The fact that he is doing it on obamas watch is the ONLY reason you give a shit, you never once mentioned jobs being sent over to china by GE Or IMMelt, until Obama
that is the reason
simple..Like you
The fact that you cant see it, is not surprising in the least

extraordinarydom -> RE: GE moving to China (8/20/2011 1:29:39 PM)

Jeffrey Immalt also makes sure that GE doesn't pay any US income taxes, thanks to three floors of CPAs and tax lawyers that his company employs to take advantage of loopholes enacted when Republicans controlled both houses of Congress during Bush The Younger's reign of error and terror. Of course, neither does Exxon, Mobil, etc., etc. We could close the deficit and begin paying down the debt if corporate deadbeats paid their fair share and the wealthy - those earning more than $1-million - simply paid at the same rate they paid during the Clinton administration. The US doesn't have a spending problem, it has a revenue problem.

Sanity -> RE: GE moving to China (8/20/2011 1:32:35 PM)

Simple is your first, middle, and last me [;)]

Think about it, if you are able...

You are not helping Dear Leaders case

Immelt has been shipping jobs overseas since 2001, and Obama anoints the asshole "jobs czar"?

Maybe you should STFU while youre behind

Lucylastic -> RE: GE moving to China (8/20/2011 1:38:44 PM)

and you should simply STFU, considering your record.

You wanna lay it all on Obama.
Bad choice or not. I dont care if Im helping Obama or not, it is simply the truth. if you have proof of it being anything else, then go ahead, the fact that YOU want it to be obamas fault is BESIDE the facts.
Im just stating facts, I dont need to be partisan like you.
You just wanna ignore the facts of GE and Immelt.
As it is, the OP was wrong, most of the jobs are staying in WI.
But still you wanna make it ALL about Obama, now who is blind?
