I identify as a masocist - but even with that label, pain hurts!

see, i can relate to that. if it didn't actually hurt, i don't think i'd get as much from it. i squirm and run away and think "why am i doing this?"
it's this really complex, totally bananas love-hate thing. to me, it just can't be summed up as an "either or," as the OP presents it. it's a tangle of so many things at once.

i don't really think masochists are more of a physical workout, either, unless you're dealing with people who are on the extreme. that seems to be what people assume when you say "masochist" but it just isn't true for everyone.

these are the kinds of conversations that inspire me to just remove all the "labels" from myself.

Obviously the latter. Otherwise, "sadist" would be a rather misleading term, wouldn't it?

They want to please me. I get pleasure out of watching them wince. We all win.

*Cackles*
The nice guy in me likes maso's, but the sadist prefers non. Their screams are...so quality.
Ain't that just all fucked up?

Im so confused all this talk of sado maso WTF... It's goes like this I find a girl I like and I smack her around whether she likes it or not. Her motives <read if she enjois it or not> I really could care less about. My trigger is tripped cuz she is doing what I tell her to do. Simple shit.

We could discuses the merits from today til tomorrow about my style of control, but that is what works for me and the girls that have passed thru my life

I guess it really is a matter of your own perspective, The sub.'s I have had seem to really enjoy the pain, so perhaps i haven't had a Non-Maso.

All I know is that the mouse, a non maso, did her best screaming in months today when I used the staple gun on her.
Grins.
It gave me good wood.

Good morning,

Prefaced: "Reasonable" is an extremely subjective term and will vary by individual.

I prefer a masochist who likes pain to a "reasonable" extent.  The fact that she mentally enjoys the distresses I inflict, regardless of her physical responses, is a considerable turn on for me.  The more she enjoys it, the more pleasure I experience.  Conversely, when it is necessary to actually discipline her for some serious infraction, the pain is real enough to discourage her from repeating that infraction.

To me, a bottom who is not masochistic is the equivalent of a vanilla, and not worth the effort either of us would have to expend to make a relationship, or "intimate" association, viable.

I do not consider myself a sadist, dom, or master.  I consider myself a top with sadistic tendencies in play.  However, I do administer discipline more as a dom than anything else.  While play is play, discipline is genuine.

When all is said and done, each partner should get, at least most of, what they want; this, to me, is what makes any relationship work.

I identify as a masocist - but even with that label, pain hurts! I don't get the pain-as-pleasure , but if the pain goes on long enough, and is a certain kind, i hit subspace. I definitely enjoy the fact that while he is hurting me , he is concentrated on me and me alone. I love the feelings when he is done and cuddling me and we have had great sex.

This may not make me a "true" masocist, but i enjoy it.

I guess this would make me a blood-boiling sub.

Well, of course the pain hurts! If it didn't, it wouldn't be pain. But if you hit subspace from pain, you are a very lovely masocist, in my opinion.

Interesting topic. Master can spank and whip slut for 4 hours straight and make slut black and blue to the point slut no longer hardly feels a thing. hmmm But slut knows Master says he would love to make slsut cry and slut would guess Master would have better luck on that if slut were less submissive. Master can wake slut up and make slut jump by changing his tools etc... but that only shocks slut for a short time and quickly turns back to passion where slut just soaks that up too. OK OK when Master bites slut that is another story and makes slut curl her toes a lot but slut still keeps her place. But the stings, tingling and the burny feelings etc... mmmmmmmm

slut would reckon a Sadisst fun would be over a looooot quicker if it was only someone doing it to please a Dom rather than totally enjoying it.

I like a person who identifies as a masochist. About the only thing that could detract is whether they might want more caning, paddling, etc. than I want to administer. That only happened once to me. I like the power transfer of S&M. If somebody was just putting up with the activity to please me it would not be the same as wanting the discipline.

I tend to prefer the first.
But not on humiliation, for example. I prefer women who endure humiliation as the one who enjoy it.
It is like... pain is always pain, even if enjoyed. Humiliation is only humiliation if the person feels humiliated. Something like this.

This is a hard question to answer.

Sometimes I want to pleasure my partner with pain. Other times, I think it would be far easier (for me) to be able to punish them with pain. Punishing a slave by making her stand in the corner or go away from me is rather kind of annoying - if for no other reason than that I have to do without a slave for a while.

For me being punished is totally different. That really hurts. There is no pleasure in knowing you've displeased your Master. It's devastating

so true... it's a fallacy that you can't punish a masochist with pain. but if punishment is physical, it pales in comparison to the mental stuff.

Hmmm...okay I think I've figured out what works for me. I love bringing pleasure through pain and so I love having a masochist BUT in my opinion a person can be masochist but still enjoy certain levels of pain and some types of pain are not as pleasurable because they are, well, more painful...I prefer someone who gets pleasure from pain but I can still bring them to tears by causing even more pain..I like to push those limits. On the other hand I do get turned on by the "extreme" masochist who's limits are never ending...I could do anything to them and they find pleasure and in a way I guess its also the challenge of finding that limit that turns me on. I understand it is a movie but when I think of the extreme masochist I think of Ichi the Killer...though its a movie there are people out there like it.

So yes, I prefer masochist but to which "extreme", I guess it depends on my mood in the moment.
