A little harsh to a simple question... albeit with a complex answer, we were all new once

Generally speaking it's one who enjoys both sides of BDSM, and from there it splits off to individual preferences.

For example some like to wield the whip and to receive it, but would still want to be in charge of the whole thing. Others it will be they enjoy the power of being in control and the release of submission.

There are many more variations but there you have the basics of a switch.

Now off to find a good tree for cutting... :-p

There are those who say that there is no such thing as a "switch" I say BAUGH!!! I consider myself a switch because it all depends on how I feel at the moment, I suppose.

Yaknow, I'd be more inclined to say that someone who's 100% Dom or sub is the rarity. For example, if you're naturally submissive and want to please, and have a submissive partner, would you not top them to make them happy? Or if you're naturally dominant, would you not like the prospect of being the center of attention as your partner ties you up and does things to you?
