Men are rarely able to describe female sexual responses with any degree of accuracy or sympathy, mostly because they have never experienced it themselves. New authors are usually told to write about something they know if the writing is to be believable. Something to bear in mind.

Now if you REALLY want to know how to write check out subrob1967's stories on this thread.
Anyone can write about wet pussies & hard nipples but he makes you CARE about his characters.  He writes actual story lines then will incorporate sex into them which in my opinion is hot!

I'll usually sugar coat my critiques but with your attitude OP I decided against that & just gave it to you straight.

I agree with all of this, especially the part in red.

Sorry...this story seems too much like another incarnation of this one. Same theme. Another thing: you try to set the tone to conform to professional protocol, then use the term 'boobs' or 'boobies'...inconsistent and too off-putting. Don't quit your day-job, bear.

Nor women writing about male sexual responses, of course.  But if one sex makes the effort, what little he/she learns about the opposite sex, *really* helps the writing.

I agree - but it takes an exceptional degree of observation and empathy to make it believable. I have seen it done, and it's pretty damn good when it happens! This writing just looks like a recap of a bog-standard wank movie, complete with pouty lips and that random fanny-slapping* that porno-gals seem to do.


*this is the British definition of "fanny". Front bottom rather than back bottom

Yep.  But it's so strongly believed, amongst many UK publishers at, that men can't 'do' women's sexual responses and vice versa, that they won't even look at a porn-draft written by a male if it's targeted at females.  When you add to the gender-divide the sub-Dom divide . . .  it all begins to look well nigh impossible.

it does, doesn't it?

I find I struggle to write from the male POV - my characters are never 'real'. Yet when I switch the genders it all works.

It would be an interesting exercise to see if publishers could actually tell whether the author was male or female when writing about sexual responses.

I'll tell you what, though, if I were to write anything for this section, it'd be just about as mild as a chicken korma.  It'd be a romantic thing, about a proposal and acceptance of submission, between two parties who can't believe that their dream could actually come true.  The theme of Dominant and submissive awakenings, in short.

And I know for damned certain it wouldn't hit the spot either in the groin area, or the head and heart area, for anyone other than a few crusty bachelors like me.  I've got only the barest clue about how to give the female character any verisimilitude, for one thing.

Still, re that last problem, anyway: so what?  Any author runs his or her stuff past experts for their comments.  I don't think I'd have too much trouble finding a person who's expert at being a female.  And, these days, only slightly less trouble finding an expert on being a femdom.

Anyway, I didn't know that subrob1967 wrote some good stuff that has characters I could care about.  If I didn't have so much to do today before being away from home Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday to be with my sub, I'd go hunting in here for some of subrob's work.  If I get my shopping done sooner and that thunderstorm doesn't wreak havoc...

Peon, this sounds lovely, especially if told exclusively from a male point of view.  I like seeing awakenings, internal struggles, and seduction in a D/s sense.  A character having a lovely arse is a nice bonus, but the hawtness for some of us comes from small things sometimes. 

Recently, for me, it was while my boy was being made to do a better job of cleaning my minivan's window, so my driving 4 hours home would be easier.  He hadn't intended to do a sloppy job, and when we were in an area that lit up my windshield...I pointed out all the streaks and smears and sent him into the store for a bottle of Windex and paper towels, and supervised his doing a better job.  His non-vanilla response, his honest desire to please me and do a better job...gave me a female version of a boner. 

When reading erotic stories, I have found vulnerability to be hawt, whether the authors were male or female.  Writing romance from a submissive male's POV and not trying to get inside both character's heads can be a lovely read.  One of my favorite romance books did something similar, but in a vanilla way. 

Last year, a sub I was interested in gave me a link to a BDSM romance he was reading about a woman being seduced and tricked into becoming a pony girl.  It was all from her point of view, her vulnerability and internal struggles and awakening.  Yes, reading it made both me and that guy horney.  The part that dropped the ball for me was when some peripheral character came into her stall and had sex with her.  It was like a bucket of cold water was splashed on me, because the D/s and seduction into kink was the hawt part...vanilla sex between two characters that had no emotional connection to each other was boring as H. 

I would rather read about some guy who lost a bet and has to be a woman's servant for a weekend...and is seduced into loving it...than the chica pow pow stuff.

But - ah, you know . . . . The stuff that fascinates me is not just a million miles from femdom porn, it's a million miles from all the knowingness that I see every day here on CM, too. It was a post here on the boards, though I'm not sure if I could find it again.  Cute story that he and I did some time back that elaborated on the two perspectives, top and bottom, during a scene.  It really was rather good.  We got a number of compliments on it at the time.
