I'm not sure where summer went! We are 5 weeks post move, and have a path through the garage. We're bringing things in slowly, as we jumped right back into our social life. The goal is to be able to park both cars inside by end Oct. We CAN do this!! "Da Forest Dog" is doing great. We feel blessed each and every day we have with him. He's happy and energetic, and is getting around famously. His skin and coat are a mess, but I think that was aggravated by the anesthesia x 2. Lab reports came back Synovial Cell Sarcoma....not as prolific as Osteo, so we'll just see how it goes. We are doing a long list of supplements, which I won't bore you with. :) I have hope his winter coat will come in healthy and rich! We went to our first MaST meeting a few weeks ago. Friends have started a new chapter in Fort Collins, and it was really great. Concentrating on relationship dynamics, it was fun to break into Masters/Doms/Tops and slaves/subs/bottoms to discuss among like-minded folks. Then come back together and discuss as a large group. We are excited to be participating and would encourage others to do so in their area if the opportunity arises. We're also helping some friends create the Colorado High Protocol Dining Society. Denver has had a traditional HP group for years, but one of the members wants to teach to a larger audience. We're taking the traditional MaleDom/femsub (Gorean) experience, and breaking it down into Key Tenets. We're writing up a structure, that can then be utilized by other dynamics. It's a really fun project. Our friend is the visionary....Otter and I are the detail-oriented, organizational development contribution. There will be membership requirements as individuals and host houses. Several classes are scheduled on a variety of topics. Otter taught a cooking class, and Shado is giving several talks on planning and execution. Since Shado and I come at this from similar, but distinctly different perspectives, the negotiated discussions around verbiage has been very entertaining! If you have something like this in your area, I'd love to hear more! On the career front, ot's looking like I might get a promotion....will know at the end of the month. Either way, I'm good. It wasn't something I was seeking, but if all falls into place, I'll enjoy it. On the sadder side, I found out my mom has Stage IV lung cancer. Unexpected to say the least. She is in FL, so mostly I'll be long-distance support. My brother is local, and mom doesn't heed much, if any advice I might offer. It is her journey, so I'll be heading that way a few times in the next few months to help as things progress. Life here in beautiful Colorado still has a lot more sunshine and happiness that clouds. Every day is a blessing and a time to overcome challenges....life is GRAND!
