What sort of discussion topics would you like to see in this forum? Personally I like discussions about tolerance and shared experiences

I like the idea of tolerance because it's lacking. I also like the personal experience as long as it's believable and not just wank fodder (just my personal choice). I like topics that raise eyebrows such as "I went on a first meet, spent the weekend, had sex, got tied up, got flogged, never made a safe call...had a fabulous time!"

Discussions that are "casual friendly." Maybe light debates that anybody can bring something to the table. Discussions about tolerance and actually bothering to explain to those that do not fully understand. Discussions that arouse your mind and make you forget how much text you're typing out. Discussions about personal experiences. Discussions that answer a question a user may have in a respectable manner. Discussions that actually make these forums feel fun to visit.

I think one way to 'make' posters or responders more tolerant is to set the example. I notice that around here it's sort of follow the flow of things and unfortunately I find myself doing the same thing before I can stop myself. Someone makes a rude comment and then ten people follow suit. I think by making ourselves aware and setting examples we can in teach tolerance. I think we all know what tolerance is but we forget it. We complain all the time about 'nilla people not being tolerant of our 'lifestyle'. But we are our own worst enemies. Vanilla people really don't give a shit if I am tied to a bed and getting my ass beat yet here a dozen people will point out a million things wrong with it-- I didn't scream my safe word (I cried, stood up and said, I've had enough), He told me to bend over which I did and he paddled me more (so he's an abuser and I should show him the door) and to top it all off this happened 1 hour and 45 minutes after we first met. It doesn't matter that we talked 4 months before hand, (because half will say I waited too long and the other half will say I did not wait long enough). And it doesn't matter that I enjoyed every second of it, I never made a safe call so I am going to be dead in a ditch some place cause I am doing it all wrong. Then to top it all off when I posted in the collar me forum I used 'there' instead of 'their' and let everyone know he pulled my 'hare' so some jerk called PETA on me. Tolerance---it should be defined as 'be nice'.

PETA makes a fun topic. As long as people agree it PETA stands for "people equal to animals". I love puppygirls for instance. Thanks for the tip

Yes, I've seen the type of threads you're talking about, the "follow the leader" type, but I tend not to post in kind unless I truly agree. I don't have the "wanna be one of the crowd" mentality and I never have. However, I do like to be social, so I'm not the anti-social type...most of the time. ;)

I don't often start topics---I have been around since '05 or so---I know this profile says '08 but I've changed my name a few times...anyways it seems when I do start a topic---usually I get the nasty remarks so common here. It makes me not want to post or start threads---I really dislike other people's bitterness becoming part of my world, therefore, I am usually very quiet on the boards but I have my moments where I will add something...I did start a topic on 8-31.

Start another and if it gets nasty and that bugs you, then just walk away from it and forget all about it. Let them tear it to shreds. It doesn't matter so much if the thread works or not, just start the sorts of threads you'd like to see, and those threads will exist. Some will be complete cock-ups like my wanker thread. Oh well, it will disappear off the page quickly enough. If you wait for other people to start them then you really have no right to complain about the lack of good topics do you?

I really wasn't complaining about topics, but I was agreeing that there are not many good ones started. Like I said---I am pretty quiet here---I come I read and normally do not participate a great deal. It's my way---maybe not the accepted way but it's my own.
