Proprietrix -> RE: never heard this before. (5/22/2006 7:15:52 AM)

lol.
They are screwing with you.
Poly means more than one. There are tons of different types of poly households/relationships. It might mean more subs, more Doms, more play partners, or just more people. Some poly people aren't even into BDSM, but hang out with the BDSM 'community' because their lifestyle is more accepted here than in the vanilla world.
Collarme has a forum for poly. If you are curious about it or thinking about joining a poly situation, I'd suggest taking some time to browse around in that forum and ask questions.

To me, it would mean that you will not expect the other person to be monogamous.

It may also mean that you will be expected to have multiple sexual or initimate partners -- I don't personally require this part from anyone.

I am poly. Someone wants to be with me they have to except that -- heck, I have a husband and a slave so a person would be deaf, dumb and blind to think I'd be monogamous with them. But if they have no interest in being intimate sexually with anyone but me, I'm not going to force them.

I'd say this was beyond just being poly -- its also about being bisexual too and being open to having sexual relationships under that direction of the dominant.

Sounds like me! Ideally I want someone who can enjoy bottoming to Fox and whose willing to learn enough about bondage to top him occasionally because I think he deserves it for his years of good service. I would also adore a female slave who could be a service top for my husband in terms of some of his fetishes that are difficult for me. In other words, adding onto my household is about more than just me (though it is about me first and foremost) because it has to work for the entire household.

Your best bet is to ask the person who has the profile in question.

DiannaVesta -> RE: never heard this before. (5/22/2006 8:42:04 AM)

Tammy I meant to ask you about this before. Are your slaves free to have relationships with other people? How does that work exactly?

I definately think I am poly, however when I have a slave he/she is property and belong only to me. I belong to no one. Now I may share or we will all get involved in something but its always my choice.

Since I am poly I do not believe it would be ethically or morally right for me to demand that someone else be monogamous to.

However, if I own someone then I get veto power over any other relationship they have be it sexual or just SM or bondage. I require that I meet potential other and ask them questions, feel them out, make our sexual limits clear -- no exchanging body fluids of any type is the biggest one.

I have never vetoed someone that Fox has approached me about but then he's only interested in fetish play or bondage play with others, he considers himself monogamous.

Now, Tom and I have similar rules. We need to meet each other potential but because we have a primarily egalitarian relationship (as much as our innate personalities allow) we don't have veto power but we have strong input. I also like to get input from Fox. I have learned to listen to my men because when I don't, generally the person in questions turns out poorly.

I would apply these same rules to any slave I owned. I'd want the same rules I have with Tom applied to any sexual relationship I had with a submissive or a bottom (if I'd even have a sexual relationship with them).

There's lot of reading on the subject of poly on the poly boards here.

i love twisted sense of humor

LadyAlexa -> RE: never heard this before. (5/24/2006 4:47:12 PM)

it's a good thing you have a sense of humor [:)]    Yes some of the posts were messing with your head, some of the post were genuine so don't throw the baby out with the bath water ok?  It shows that what you posted first "what is poly"[edited by me]  and then your next posting explaining about a profile you read and what it stated, gave everyone more info.  One lesson in how to post...or how much info to post so you will get a proper answer.

I won't go over what the other Ladies stated about poly as they covered it well.   What you need to consider is whether or not something like this would appeal to you.   I have had a poly household, but no one had sex together.  I had one bi female, one lesbian boi, CD het male, and a trans m-f who hasn't started transitioning.  The bi and the boi asked permission to see each other and possibly have a sexual relationship.    I don't require anyone to be bi, but it's nice when it happens  [:)]      I only expect other submissives to accept the fact that I might play with one or more while the others are present, but it doesn't mean they will play with one another.
