I've suffered with insomnia for as long as I can remember, I am never on a "normal" sleep schedule longer than 2 weeks, regardless of what I've tried. What ::helps:: me now is using melatonin supplements. They work in the same way as a sleeping pill, you take them, they make you drowsy, BUT they don't carry the ill side effects of prescription or over the counter sleeping pills. Melatonin tablets are sold in all health food stores, and a brand called Vivitas is sold in pharamcies and grocery stores as well, so you can really find it anywhere. They may sell other brands as well, but I've only seen the Vivitas bottles so far. They may or may not work for you, but they're worth a shot. They don't give that 'pill hangover' effect in the morning, which was the biggest plus in my mind. There also was none of that 'excitability' (where you toss and turn and every sound or sensation irritates the shit out of you lol) like there always had been with sleeping pills like there always had been with sleeping pills. At the health shop I buy mine at, they're $12 for 120 tablets and I believe they're sold with a universal 3mg dose per tablet. Hope that helps, insomnia is brutal [:(]
