Muttling -> I need a Leather Craftsman for a Simple Project (9/12/2011 6:21:48 PM)

Greetings all,

To the moderators, please move this thread if I have put it in the wrong place.

I want to get a very basic set of wrist and ankle cuffs.   The linked video below shows the construction of exactly what I seek, but I'd like to get them in less stiff leather (perhaps padded.)

Please message me if you're a leather worker who can assemble such a set for me.   I will ask for references and photos of previous work.

What I'm Looking For: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq8hxtGQSf0

Thanks,

Mutt

You can get the very same thing from Torvea Toys.

Thanks LadyPact, but the ones you linked have a very different locking clasp and a buckle built in.    I'm looking for something much simpler and didn't see it in any of their restraint products.

I have no clue where you live...
However, if you have a cobbler near you, which is a dying art...he/she may be able to help you.
I`m surprised your not getting anyone here, you may want to post this in another section.

IF and ONLY IF you cannot get anyone to make some mail me...as a last resort only.
No, I have NO references as I only make things for myself or close friends..and I can do excellent work...so don`t bother asking for that!

Good luck, find a local cobbler...

Ummm... the ones with the clasp and buckle are WAY better (from a bondage/locking perspective) than the crap way of locking cuffs on the ones in the video.  Granted, maybe you're not planning to use them for actual bondage (e.g., for pictures or whatever), and if so, if you like the one this guy makes, then just buy them off his website -- it's referenced at the top of the video: www.bickety.com

*Note:  As to your concern about the leather being "stiff", most leather is that way when it's new... just like when you buy a new leather belt -- stiff at first, but softens/loosens with use.

I respect and appreciate your comments, but Miss and I have been into this for over 20 years (each.)  We know what we prefer and it may not be your preference.

We have played with the types of restraints I describe as well as the type you describe.   In truth, we currently own what you describe and they are lightly worn.   We know what we like from experience and it's not at all crap.   We like effective simplicity and the link I gave is exactly that.

From "experience", I find cuffs with that type of locking mechanism total "crap", but whatever flips your pancake.  Though again, since you seem to find great favor with the cuffs this guy produces, why not just buy from his website -- or email him and ask if he can custom make some to your specific likes???

The best leatherworkmanship I know of is Bear Things in northern Colorado.  http://www.collarchat.com/m_3751525/tm.htm

Thanks dude, I'm betting that he can easily assemble what I'm looking for.
