I love roughing it out, the one luxury we do take is a tent and an airmattress, cause I can't sleep on the hard ground with my slipped disk, and hip and back problems

I thought it was cool.. ive passed the email onto a few people who spend time outside a great deal out of the city and have ice boxes with them.

I'd take a gallon of water with you, along with whatever soap you usually use. Wet down the bits you want to wash, suds up with the soap, rinse off with more of the water. I've had a complete shower with not quite one gallon of water, so only washing off one part of the body off will make a gallon last that much longer. Edited to add: You may want to warm the water up a big prior to use. Room temperature water feels bloody cold!

that frozen shower block is a really cool idea. :) where i usually go camping these days has a shower house, but the first time i ever went camping, we went to an old farmstead and there was NOTHING there. we took wipes and some extra water to wipe down with. it worked well enough.
